Babu Banarasi Das University M.Tech Review By Aman Karnrajput

Babu Banarasi Das University is a very famous and private university in the capital city Lucknow and this university is approved by the UGC and AICTE and it was established in 2010. BBDU provides many facilities to the students like the health facility; there is small clinic inside the university for the student and faculty for free and free medicines. There is also free transportation facilities for the hostel students. There are also some scholarship opportunities for the students who cannot afford the fee which is 1.25 Lakh for the M. Tech. Security in the university is very tight and we can see there are many guard inside the university watching the vulnerabilities. I choose this university because this is a very good university in term of providing placement to the student. Since it provide good placement and that is what everyone desire to be so anyone who wants to be placed in good company should take admission in this university.

I took admission in the Master of Technology after my B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering and I choose manufacturing in my M. Tech. because there were some good companies in the manufacturing industry like TATA, Mahindra, and Godrej etc. I did my B. Tech in 2017 from a good university but I did not get placed so I decided to prepare for the GATE exam but I did not get good rank for the IIT or NIT so I choose Babu Banarasi Das University. Entry requirement for this course are that candidate should have done their B.E. or B.Tech. from any AICTE approved university and should have appeared for the GATE exam. My motive to enroll for this program was that I wanted a good job in a respectable companies and to increase my skill set such that I can qualify the out of campus job process. Course is split in four semesters and it is easy to qualify each semester by just studying one week before the final examination but it is hard to pass the practical and the viva because it is really hard.

I took admission in 2018 and I enrolled in the post graduation course so there are very specific subjects in the course for that we require good faculty members who has that level of knowledge and I can say that the faculty members in the university did not disappoint me because they are just so good in their respective field and their amount of knowledge in their field is out of this world. But sometime I could not connect some of the teachers because they did not teach according to the students. Some of the faculty members were very good and their style of teaching was sync with students and they also helped in the projects and the papers. But other than the teaching us we as M.Tech students also had to attend the tutorial for the B.Tech students we had to teach them in their subjects and this was a very good experience because by teaching juniors we also get an idea to teach and how we can deliver what we know.

There is placement cell in the BBDU which is quite good in their work of bringing companies to the campus and it brings some of the best companies in India. I became eligible for sitting in the campus recruitment in my third semester and we start to participate in the written test of the companies. Majority of companies those visit the university allow all the students to sit in the process irrespective of their branch and after that there is written test of the company which can be inline or offline in which there are aptitude questions and questions according to the company assessment. But some companies just came exclusively for the mechanical branch and they allow only the UG and PG Mechanical Engineering students and their test is generally has the core related questions in their written assessment.

I would say that the hostel fee is high for a middle class student and the facility they provide are good but they charge Lakh per year for a three seater non AC room. Apart from the fee down side, there are some up side of the hostel is also there like there is hall in the hostel for the recreational activities like we watch cricket matches together in here and there is a movie night in a weak. Hostel students get more advantages than the day scholar students like we get exclusive access to the building dedicated to the hostellers which has like restaurant and shopping mall etc. We also get free gym subscription and free access to all the sports equipment like cricket bat and football and we can take whatever things we like. Other than the facilities mess food in the hostel is the one thing that I like the most about the college hostel.

There are many buildings in the university in which some are for the hostels and some are for the academic purposes. BBDU is a new university and it has all the modern technology inside the university and also it provide many new courses in various field like B. Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and I has all the infrastructure require for that. There is a super computer inside the university which maintains the huge computer center of the college. There are some other facilities in the college are also present like Health facilities, Auditorium (approx. 1000 seats), Library with seating facilities which had more 20000 books and journals, mall and cafeteria, sports facilities, Temple, Sports Facility, Good Security, Bank Facilities and there is also a bank inside the university. Classrooms are also very clean and modern in the academic blocks with good teaching environment.

Many activities in the campus because it is huge campus and there are more than 7000 students in BBDU university which make it a very big university in terms of students. Every day you can see some event or workshops are being organized in the university by the college management and some of the events completely organized by the students only. College provides us many good facilities but they also charge good amount of money for that but the experience that we have in the university is amazing we cannot match it with money. The most memorable event that happen in the university is the cultural fest that happen in the month of the February each year in which Bollywood singer come and perform and it feel like a concert in the university but college management does not charge any money for that. There are many clubs in the BBDU which has their own place in the campus they also got funding from the university for the smooth running of its operations and other works.
