Overall Rating
I took admission in this University because it is in my hometown. This University is pretty good as it offers various courses to the students. Here, the students can go for the summer camps in Pune. The University offers scholarships to the students which is very helpful. This University maintains a balance between the academics and the extracurricular activities. I would recommend others to take admission in this University.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing M.Sc in this University. To take admission in this course, you have do Bachelor first from any recognised University. The students can apply for the admission online. The admission process is very simple. If your name appears in the merit list then you have to pay the admission fee. Then you have to submit the required documents. My course includes 4 semesters. We have to appear for the exams in every 6 months. The exams consist of 100 marks. The syllabus is as per the Central University. Overall, the academics here are good.
As it is a Government University, the fee here is very affordable. The fee of my course in the first semester is Rs. 1950/-. This fee includes registration fee, tuition fee, student aid fee, cultural fee, and various others. The students of every category have to pay the same fee. The students can avail the SVMCM scholarship. For the students of reserved category, various scholarships are available such as Aikyashree and Oasis.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members of CBPBU Cooch Behar is highly qualified and approachable. Most of the teachers have done Ph.D from top Indian & Foreign Institutions. One of my teacher have got Siksha Ratna award by West Bengal Higher Education Department. All the teachers are experienced in their respective field. They teach us very well and often discuss about the concepts of Physics. They also take our counseling in a very friendly way. The teaching methods includes blackboard, PPTs, etc.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the University has placement cell. The packages are not that good. The cell conducts a job fair where various companies come such as Axis bank, etc. Right now, the students are more interested in Government jobs. Various students appear in the exams to get Government jobs.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, CBPBU Cooch Behar offers hostel facilities to the students. There are 2 hostels one is for girls and another one is for boys. The mess offers 2 meals in a day. The hostel fee is affordable. The hostel has security guards. I am a day scholar so I don’t have much information about it.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is not that huge. The campus has digital classrooms, libraries, cafeteria, etc. but the classrooms are not that huge it has the seating capacity of around 45 students. There are huge seminar halls, physics lab, etc. The academic building is of 3 floors. The campus offers transportation facilities to the students. A new building is under construction right now. Overall, the infrastructure is average.
 

Campus Rating
The campus crowd belongs from different states and they are very friendly. We enjoy each and every small event which is conducted by the University. There are many clubs such as Science club, Cultural club, etc. The NSS unit is also available in the University campus. The University organise Fresher’s party and Farewell. Several seminars by top researches & educators are organised here. Overall, my campus is fantastic.
