HPNLU Shimla: Way to Success

Overall Rating
I chose this University, as I was passionate about pursuing my career in Law background and advocating for people rights. There are many events in this university and the university is well connected by the roads, as it is located in the Shimla Mandi Highway one can reach. Hence, students can directly reach bus or by any private vehicle. There are many eateries and restaurants nearby, along with the beautiful foothills of Himalayas.
 

Academics Rating
I am in B.A.LLB (Hons.). In 1st semester so the curriculum is well suited to the needs of the students, with equal emphasis on learning Law and social sciences. It makes the students industry & corporate ready. Attendance is something that should be taken care of in this university, as there are strict provisions regarding this, with the mandatory attendance being 70% semester exams are moderately tough and one can pass them if you are sincere in studies
The UG 5 year integrated program admission fee for 1st semester is Rs. 1,17,500/- and for the 2nd semester it’s Rs. 81,000/- and in this lots of facilities are included such as facilities fee, campus development fee, library fee, hostel fee and etc. Scholarships are also provided.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty here is very interactive is very keen to help the students on related subject matters. Some of the teachers are so patient. They always try to bring practical knowledge to the classrooms, we are also provided reading material, continuing case laws, judgments, and opinions, and the best thing about HPNLU is their faculty they are good.
 

Placement Rating
As I am a first year student so I do not know much about placements but I have heard from my seniors and batch mates that placements here only 50% of students got placements. The lowest package is around 5 LPA and the highest package is around 18 LPA. However, placements here need a lot of improvement.
 

Hostel Rating
As I first year student my hostel is inside university premises. Talking about other year students, the hostels are outside the campus. New hostel is being built for girls in which second to fifth year girls will reside. However, talking about the present one, there is only one floor where 20 girls are residing. We have one common washroom and bathroom. Talking about the mess food, it is fair not as good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The academic buildings and classrooms are well furnished, smart- classrooms. It is Wi-Fi enabled campus the campus location and environment are amazing and it’s very quiet which helps us to be study- focused facilities such as library, computer labs, digital resources, and many more are present for instance. The library has daily newspaper subscription along with the various recent publications and digital library is fulfilled with various databases such as Manupatra, SCC, etc. it also consist of gym, indoor & outdoor sport facilities, and medical facility with ambulance link to nearby hospital.
 

Campus Rating
The campus is in scenic- hill setting and is a very peaceful environment. There are active academic societies and committees Like Moot Court, ADR Centre, IPR Club, Debating Society, etc. These provide extra academic engagement. It also has cultural and literary committee, which hosted many events few months back. we also had a great foundation day, which had events like fashion show, dancing, singing, drama etc.

    I am first year Law student at Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla. At this University, things are very good till now teachers are great, infrastructure is also good. Hostel facility are also provided.     As a first year student, it has been an exhilarating experience so far. The daily walks here seem like short and peaceful treks that provide a sense of calmness all over. The faculty is impeccable and covers each topic for each session in a holistic manner, which further enables us to go and further study well in the library There is no ragging culture either which makes for a safe and comfortable environment for the students.... The tranquil environment of the campus greatly enhances the learning experience, providing a serene space for both academic and personal growth.
