I am an IPM student (BBA + MBA). Our BBA includes a variety of courses ranging from sociology, to understand society's impact on businesses and how decision-making is affected, to core Finance, Marketing, and Management subjects with social and corporate Internships. I think you should have a preliminary idea about the thing you are getting into, and our BBA course is precisely designed in a way to give you a rundown of all aspects so that you can choose what works for you the best without any mishaps. Admissions take place on basis of merit through an exam JIPMAT conducted by NTA every year. The course is in a semester pattern, and there are 6 semesters. Each semester, we have a mid-semester examination followed by end-semester examination.

The fee structure is Rs. 6,15,000/- per academic year, applicable for each of the three years (this covers tuition fees, other academic/non-academic expenses such as library, hostel fees, health insurance, etc.). There are a number of scholarships available on merit and requirement basis, and our Institute encourages students to apply for scholarships. Also, a 100% collateral-free educational loan is available for students of our Institute.

We have around 75 students in a classroom, and each faculty tries to engage every student through class discussion, various group projects, case study discussions and even field trips so that we gain practical knowledge and actually apply what we learn in classroom. Our professors are proficient in their fields and have years of experience and multiple publications in their expertise fields, and we are provided with personal support and mentorship from them as well.

From the fourth year onwards, IPM students are merged with the MBA batch, and their placements are conducted jointly. In last year's placement process, the average package stood at 16.04 LPA. Prominent companies come to IIM Jammu to recruit the students.

Our academic block is equipped with modern technology, with horseshoe lecture theatres and a state-of-the-art library. The library gives us access to the Bloomberg Terminal, a plethora of online resources, e-books, market databases, academic journals, case-study repositories, and many other resources. Our campus spans 200 acres of land. We have an amphitheatre, a modern auditorium with a seating capacity of over 500 people. Sports facilities such as a Squash Court, Tennis Court, an Olympic race-track, Badminton Court, a gym, a yoga room, a Basketball Court, snooker, and foosball, and many other facilities are available. And how could we forget about our iconic clock tower which is our favourite spot for jamming and hanging with friends.

Our campus life at Indian Institute of Management, Jammu is something we swear by. Everything here is student run, which gives us first-hand exposure and understanding of real-ground management. We work late nights with our colleagues and friends and learn a lot from our seniors. From a tap not working correctly in the washroom to some equipment failure in the gym to hosting our Annual Cultural Fest called ‘Empyrean’ and celebrating festivals together. Students manage everything together. I am a part of the Entrepreneurship Club, and I am also the junior coordinator for the Sponsorship Committee of our Annual Cultural Fest. One thing is for sure, you will not only be a part of the academics here, you will be doing a lot more.
