Rajkiya Engineering College B.Tech Review By Tushar Pahadiwal

Rajkiya Engineering College is a state government technical institute and it is supported by the Uttar Pradesh government. This college was established in 2010 so the alumni of the institute are not everywhere and we have to struggle for the references in companies. Infrastructure wise this institute is below average and the area of the college is also very small and it looks like school some times. There are also some good facilities in the college like well maintained labs and the computers in the college are also in very good condition. My experience in the institute was good and I feel this institute is good if you want to prepare for any competitive exam because every student in the college is preparing for any exam. College culture in the institute is good and the relation between the junior students and senior students is also very good.

My branch in the B. Tech was information technology and this branch most of the subjects are related coding languages whether it is in the web development and whether it the core languages. In my course there was eight semester and there were around five subjects in each semester and after that there were three practical in each semester. Best part of REC Ambedkar Nagar was that teachers were supportive for the students. Eligibility for the course was that we need to complete Intermediate after that we need to give the UPSEE exam but no this exam is replaced by the JEE Mains exam. My motivation for this course was that most of the subjects of this course are based on the computer and I was good in computer. Semester exams are easy to by just studying one day before the exam but to understand the subjects we need to study daily.

In my branch there are subjects like C programming, JAVA, Java script and Django which can be studied from the youtube because many great content is available on youtube but the teachers in the institute are very good and they did not encourage us to study online while they provide very good learning experience for us. In the labs also the practical we perform every lab instructor and the faculty members were very dedicated towards us to give us everything what they and I like their way of teaching very much and I like the most of the teachers those taught me except one or two faculty members who were very rude and they did not even teach with good intent and they just came to the class to just attend the lectures. Every teacher in the REC did complete their Masters degree and the PhD degree. And also tall the teachers that I met were very experienced and they were teaching from a decade.

Placements are not well in the Rajkiya Engineering College Ambedkar Nagar and the placement cell in the institute are just for the arrangement of the internships and they do not help in the arrangement off the companies to visit the campus. There are only three branches in the college which are electrical, civil and information technology and these branches only IT students are eligible for the placements and other branches students prepare for the GATE exam and other competitive exam. There are only sixty students in each year and in my class only 40 students got placed. The reason for the low placements is that companies do not visit the campus. Students have to apply for the job on the various online portals and after that they got the placements. But the cell in the REC provides good internship opportunities for us with good stipend.

Usually government institute does not have the quality hostels so was this college. The quality of the hostels was below average and two students were allotted to a single small room which was very messy. The room condition was also not good and we were just living in the college hostel because the room fee in the college hostel was just ten thousand per year which was very affordable for me and that was the reason for me to stay in the campus. Mess was average and food in the hostel mess was also average and they serve three meals in a day and there was a special dinner on the Sunday night. Apart from the college resources there were also good activities that happen in the college hostel like every night is an event in a college hostel and we enjoy a lot in the hostel. Paying Guest rooms are available around the campus but the amount of fee that they charge is also very high.

There are only two main academic blocks in the college and there are hostels in the institute for the boys and girl separately. There is a small auditorium in the college where 200 students can sit at time. The reason for the small infrastructure of the institute is that number of students in the college is also very less. When I was studying in the college the number of students in the college was 500. There is sports ground in the college where generally students play cricket. Classrooms are very good in the institute and the quality of the class infrastructure is very good. Academic building are also very well made and beautifully designed. Library in the college is also good and we can issue as many books and journals as we want and we can also get the book for the various exam preparations so do not need to buy the books. Overall college infrastructure is average and they managed every resource of the college.

I was enrolled in the college in 2016 and at that time college was starting its various clubs and it just started its cultural event so I saw the growth of this college and I was part of the development of the college. I myself started a club in the institute on web development. In my first year only one fest was organized which was our annual fest where students participated in various activities and we can also add our category of the performance based on our skill. In my second year we started a technical fest in the institute for the encouragement of the students towards the upliftment of the innovative culture in the institute other than the preparation for the exams. In my third year three fests were happening in the institute like cultural fest, sports fest and technical fest and other than this fest many clubs were also made in this time duration and we also successfully organized some seminar of some guest speakers.
