My Personal Opinion About SSJ University Almora

Overall Rating
Full name of my Institution is Soban Singh Jeena University. It was established in the year 2020 as a State level University. I choose this Institution for my graduation because this is near me and I was able to match its cut-off. It has several courses to pursue like Arts, Science and Computer. The environment of the campus is very good for study because there is a very big library which provides various books.
 

Academics Rating
I chose the course B.Sc in Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry. The requirements for admission in this stream is you have to be Class 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combination. You have to make it to the merit list of the University. For admission first of all, you have to enrol on their website and after that fill the admission form. During this degree you will have to pass exams in a total of 6 semesters, where the course is of 3 years.
You have to submit an admission fee which is approximately Rs. 3500/-. After this you have to submit fee again in a year which is Rs. 3700/-. You also have to pay Rs. 650/- as exam fees. You can fill form for scholarship program on the 'National Scholarship Portal'. If the candidate belongs to any reserved category, then at the time of admission you can fill form for fee concession. Various other scholarship programs are provided by the University.
 

Faculty Rating
The Science faculty is very humble and supporting towards the students. The faculty includes both male and female teachers. The professors who taught me are all well able to teach us and very good at problem solving. The student-to-teacher ratio is decent. They are approachable and good in nature. Some of them teach us by their self made notes and some use PPTs.
 

Placement Rating
SSJ University Almora organises some job fairs in year, approximately twice which helps students get a job.
 

Hostel Rating
The University offers hostel rooms for girls and boys both. I didn't live in the hostels but there is lot of room for improvement.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is very big. All the departments have their own buildings. The classes are very big and provide good space for the students to sit; the furniture is in good condition as well. The labs are in good condition and includes almost all the equipment required to do the practical assignments. The University also has a very small canteen. A very big library for studying in peace is present at the Institution. It is clean and has toilets as well. However, the security can be much better.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life is very good and it is quite clean too. SSJ University Almora is crowded because a lot of students come to attend classes. The environment of the University is nice as well.
