In 1946, St. Philomena's College Mysore Was Started as a Private Institution

Initially, the College seemed lenient at first. However, after spending quite a few month, it is strict that is important for maintaining the decorum. However, the rector was kind enough to understand special circumstances and grant immunity to the 75% attendance rule. The lecturers are good and I even like what they in turn making the students too like the subject. St. Philomena’s College Mysore also emphasises on conducting every cultural event and do every event in a huge scale, which also increases the social skills of the students, the students are sociable coming from all different backgrounds and ethnicities, and there is fair exchange of culture and an overall fun time.

The College was started in 1946. I have enrolled for B. Sc. Entry requirements are simple, you go enter your name address number and talk to administrators and your marks are required you should have passed your 12th exams. We have internal exams and semester exams also teachers conduct surprise test class test and online quiz.

The fee structure is different for different courses where Basic Science subjects like Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology have a fee of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 35,000/- per year. The fee for specialised courses like Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry ranges from Rs. 70,000/- to Rs. 80,000/- per year. They have installment system for the convenience of the students.

The faculty is wide & inclusive, having lecturers from all different backgrounds and ethnicities. Most of them are multilingual and can help students understand in whatever language they prefer. They are really sociable and inclusive of the students. They also are kind and compassionate; most of them are expert in their subjects, which in turn increase the interest that one has in the subjects.

The placements of St. Philomena’s College Mysore are satisfactory. I hope in future, the College provides Internship opportunities to the students.

The hostels are mediocre, boasting sharing and single rooms the prices are affordable but they still need major infrastructure updates since most of the rooms are outdated and need re maintenance

The infrastructure needs major upgrades. However, the facilities provided in the campus are abundant with a good canteen too, the prices of food are reasonable and there are enough varieties served.

The campus life is average with a mix of high social and cultural exchange since the College has a large student base and a large number are sociable. It encourages wide cultural exchange between different ethnicities and cultures.
