RGUKT Srikakulam has Nearly 17 Departments

Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies is generally called as RGU-IIIT (well known as State IIIT). The primary objective of the University was to provide high quality education to the students who belong to rural regions of Andhra Pradesh. It provides opportunity to the students of rural region for higher studies. It provides 6-year Integrated course i.e., PUC(Pre University Course) +B.Tech. Laptops are provided to the students. Also, the University has around 17 departments.

I am student of 2020-26 batches. I got the seat through a SET exam. I chose RGUKT Srikakulam because it has fee reimbursement and has Integrated course which includes Diploma and B.Tech. In addition, we can write EAMCET or JEE Main after 10+2. Even though it's a 6 year Integrated course, it is our choice whether to continue our B.Tech in rgukt or another University. There are branches like CSE, ECE, EEE, Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Chemical, and now they added a new branch called AI/ML. In addition, there will be some labs according to course year. I am a CSE student, there are 2 semesters for a year, and each semester has 3 mid exams and 1 end semester exam.

My fee is around Rs. 60,000/- per year (after Scholarship). We have to pay that amount to the Institution. Some students whose family have Government jobs or doesn't meet scholarship criteria have pay charges as per different fee structure.

We have 5 to 6 subjects in PUC. There are 2 language teachers. Almost the entire faculty has done M.Tech or Ph.D. In addition, coming to B.Tech faculty, there will be a HoD for every branch. We also have non-teaching faculty like lab assistants, scholarship faculty, finance faculty, and IT faculty. Most of our faculty uses PPT or board while explaining subject. In addition, language subjects have some activities like group discussion, debates, etc. There are at least 11 faculties for each branch and some branches like those that CSE has 360 students while branch as if civil has 60 students.

We have a Training and Placement Cell which is responsible for bringing on campus companies. They also provide assistance for GATE or other Government exams. Most of the packages are between 3 LPA to 6 LPA.

There are 2 kinds of rooms in our hostel. Small rooms can accommodate upto 3-4 students where as large rooms can accommodate upto 8-9 students. In addition, coming to mess food, it used to be fine but due to some recent changes in contractor there is limited non-veg. In addition, the food is hygienic.

There used to be 8 blocks in our campus at first and 1 block is used as quarters for faculty. Now another academic block is newly built. Other academic & non-academic amenities are also present at the premises.

I would say my overall campus life is enjoyable with good friends and nice faculty. Of course we did face some problems with power supply or water shortage but it's still bearable. In addition, there are some clubs like Arts and Craft club, Yoga club, Music club, etc. In addition, our University organises every fest in a very grand way and there will almost be about 5 to 6 events in a year.
