Kerala Agricultural University, College of Agriculture Vellayani, Thrissur Offers UG, PG, and Ph.D Level Courses

I have been studying in this University for past 2 years & it is a very hue campus. The University has 4 campuses & I am studying in Vellayani, Thiruvananthapuram Campus. I chose this University over others because it is the first University of Agriculture in Kerala and is surrounded by Vellayani lake in 3 sides.

I have this course by chance but now I really started to enjoy this course. Entry is decided by NEET UG exams for students of the State and ICAR / CUET rank list for rest of the country candidates. Admission process is held in each year after the commencement of entrance exams. To secure seat in the test, one should have rank as per prescribed for the students of each category. Course curriculum is very easy and enjoyable. It has around 25 departments or so. Every day, we learn some new things. Exams happen in each semester we will have mid terms, practicals and semester exams. In 1st semester, there are around 6 subjects. For now i.e., 4th semester, I have to study over 8 subjects.

Fee is too paid in each semester and I have paid Rs. 16,985/- on my 4th semester as a hosteller day. As for the day scholars, Rs. 1500/- get deducted from this amount.

Faculty members are top notch. Almost 95% of teachers are Ph.D holders. They are also well experienced at least like 10 to 30 years of experience in total. Student to teacher ratio is like almost 1:10.

Agriculture course does not offer many placements. However, for the students of other department, placements are good.

Hostel is there for both boys & girls. For PG and UG students, so there are separate hostels. Students need to be in hostel by 9:30 PM. Food is okay & the mess area is clean and tidy. Fee is Rs. 4000/- to Rs. 4500/- per year.

Academic blocks of Kerala Agricultural University, College of Agriculture Vellayani, Thrissur are well designed and good for students. They are fully equipped with tools such as digital library, web classrooms, etc. Campus size is really huge, classroom are good, air conditioned, and Wi-Fi enabled. There are libraries, labs in each floor, 6 and 3 canteens. Being located at the prime bus, auto, metro, cabs, etc. are easily available.

Campus life is great. It helps in boosting your self-esteem and confidence. There are many students still not crowded. Many clubs such as sports, Union, Academic, Religious, etc. are there for the students. It organizes fests & events such as Fresher's, Farewell, Teacher's Day, etc. Overall life here is joyful and cheering if you join clubs and events
