MSIT Kolkata: A Suitable Institute for Aspiring Students

Overall Rating
This Institute was started in 2001. Well, I like it here. The learning environment, healthy competition, supporting faculties, not so much crowdy and messy, just a good decent Institute, serves the purpose well. One of the major factors that made me choose this Institute was that one of my friends already studying in this Institute, he told me this Institute was nice and it actually turned out to be nice.
 

Academics Rating
Overall, academics of the Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology Kolkata are good. Subjects and topics are carefully supervised and taught to the aspiring engineers. Exam frequency is decent. The admission process in the Institute is non-hectic and smooth. Any JEE Main or WBJEE qualified student is eligible to get the admission in Institute; stream depends on the rank of the student. I personally chose B.Tech in Information Technology because of its robustness and syllabus, which aligns with my interests.
The fees structure is in aligned with the condition of the current market. My 4 years undergraduate course fee is Rs. 8,00,000/-. Relaxation and rebates are provided to eligible students and wide spectrum of payment options is available.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are genuinely very good, especially in teaching the relevant stuffs. Most of the faculties are Ph.D holders and qualified professors with teaching experience of more than 5 years. Professors have access to smart boards as well as blackboards to teach the students well. Enough professors and working staff are present to assist the students in any distress or problems. Well some of the professors are little strict and may cause bit of academic pressure on the students but overall it is for the student's benefit.
 

Placement Rating
Placement Cell is active at MSIT Kolkata. in addition, mock interviews and coding rounds are organised for 1st year students so that they get used to the placement environment. Many renowned companies visit during drives including EY, Bosch, TCS, Deloitte, and more. Packages offered are nice depending upon the performance of the student.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel facility is not available at the campus. However, there are private hostels and PGs available in abundance nearby the Institute.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Academic blocks are enough big but the campus size is not that big to be honest because the Institute is situated in metropolitan zone of Kolkata. Canteen, library, seminar room, conference hall, etc are available for students use and serves the purpose very well. Sports events are organised by seniors as well as authorities to help in extracurricular activities of students. One of my favorite things in the Institute is MSL, which is a Football league.
 

Campus Rating
There are many clubs and organisations inside the Institute, which are available for enrollment of the students. Annual fests, fresher's party, Adios – farewell events are organised for the outgoing graduates. I really like it here & have no complains but there are surely room for improvements in some places.

    MSIT Kolkata is affiliated by MAKAUT, accredited by NAAC and AICTE approved. Its NBA accreditation branches are CSE, ECE, CE, & EE. Connectivity of this institute is very good. It is a well-known private institute in South Kolkata, and lastly it has small campus but very decent place to study. The teacher to student relation is good.     This institute has good faculties and supportive staff who are very helpful and keep students knowledge up to date. MSIT Kolkata has good labs with up to date lab amenities and faculties. The institute has no strict attendance schedule and students are free to pursue other things along with their studies.
