Admissions in B.E Program at Anna University Chennai are Offered via TNEA Counselling

Anna University Chennai is considered as the first choice by all the state rank holders. The University keeps its promise intact for those students who trust the University even today. It offers excellent placement opportunities. The most important part for any middle class student is the affordability and it provides you quality education at a reasonable fee structure.

I have chosen Electrical and Electronics Engineering as my stream which is considered to be ever green department and with the increasing demand of Electric vehicle and advance in smart grid technology I felt that this course would do justice for my future scope. Entry requirements would be to have cutoff above 195 (based on your category). The admission is offered through TNEA Counselling. In our department, you have final semester exam after every 6 months. Apart from that, you have 2 assessments in every semester. The academics and the subjects are well advanced to real life challenges and electives are added based on the recent technology that helps you to be ready for real world.

My fee structure for every semester is Rs. 10,000/- (due to some discounts and fee concession). For other students, it was Rs. 15,000/-. Hostel fee comes around Rs. 30,000/- per semester. Apart from this, you would be paying around Rs. 30,000/- for admission in the University. A few scholarships are provided by Anna University as well.

The teaching staff is very friendly & imparts the right knowledge. They encourage you to ask your doubts during their class itself and take a great amount of time to make you understand it clearly. Most of the staffs have completed their Ph.Ds and Masters’ in their domain.

CUIC is the placement cell in our University. You would be given regular updates and details regarding the company who are attending the campus recruitment drive.

Yes, the University offers hostel facilities throughout the 4 year course. In first to third year, 4 seater rooms are allocated to us. In final year, you get single sharing room. Mess food is really good. You would be served non-vegetarian food for 2 days in a week. Hostel rules and timings are flexible for boys. Hostel close up time is 9:00 PM. Yes, I have stayed in the hostel and most of memorable moments are from the hostels.

Infrastructure of the University is well-designed. Around 2 to 3 auditoriums are there in various part of campus. Canteen has the best and affordable food that you can ask for. Labs are fully-equipped as well. You have hospital inside the campus and you would be having min vans for transportation to various parts of campus. The red building is my favorite part of the campus.

Campus life is phenomenal you would never get such an experience from any other University. Staring from fests and cultural activities, the campus life is really good . You would have to be part of NCC or NSS Units which teaches you stuff that study could not teach you. I have been a part of societies which have organised many tech and non tech events. Kurukshetra and Techofes Fest events are organised & they go on for 3 to 4 days.
