In 2019, CVM University, Vallabh Vidyanagar was started as Private Educational Institution

I am currently pursuing my 2nd year B.A (Hons.) in Political Science and International Relations from Institute of Language Studies and Social Science (ILSASS) that is a part of CVM University, Gujarat. This Private University was established in 2019. Overall, it has been a good experience in my department and faculties as they are always available for our needs and try their best resolve them. University is equally focused on various competitions, events providing opportunities for students to excel. My experience over campus life in 1 year has been much better than expected with these given factors.

Being a Keralite and migrating to Gujarat for my Undergraduate program was a well-researched decision from my end. So the first question, I receive upon saying that I am from Kerala is why did you choose a University this far? Answer to that is I am studying a course that is rare to receive at Undergraduate level. This course being high in demand and rare to receive is major reason I decided to choose this one. If you compare the syllabus, it has been designed by incorporating all necessary elements and topics. Our 2nd and further years, syllabus has been updated this year and added an extra unit to all subjects. The credits offered give you opportunity to pursue your interested subject in the future and doesn’t hinder you at any point. If you manage to keep CGPA above 7.5, you will be eligible for research in 4th year.

One of the major reason that I chose ILSASS for my UG is because of the scholarship and fees structure. My actual fees is 55k but with my scholarship, yearly I only have to pay 16.5k. This is easy to maintain as well if you perform well and keeps up your CGPA above 7.5. Scholarship is available to anyone and it can be paid semster wise as well. And they do charge minimal payment for event entries and exam registration as well. Everything else are covered in the fees.

Overall, my opinion on faculty has been great so far and thankful to them for their guidance. Being a Keralite, not knowing Hindi or Guajarati, my professors have made it easier for me to navigate through this. In my 1st year, two major papers were there and there were 2 faculties to teach them. They teach with use of PPTs, smart boards, and provides us writing tips for exams. They have always pushed us to read newspaper, discuss on current international politics developments. In second year, we have 3 major papers handled by 3 different faculties. All of them teach in English and informs us of opportunities to take hold of. So it has been great with them

Placement as if now, I'm not well aware since it’s an Art’s University and I aspire to join my Masters’ further. However, the CVM University, Vallabh Vidyanagar does facilitate Internships and helps us in availing it and guide us towards it.

Hostel has been the best part of my campus life. The facilities and rooms differs according to your budget. Lowest fee of the hostel Rs. 40,000/- & highest of Rs. 85,000/-. At highest hostel, you will get a room with all amenities available like separate washroom, balcony, AC, study table, and more. AC bill has to be separately paid and can be shared between your roommates. Timing for hostel is 7 AM to 7 PM, which I find it very convenient, and at 7 AM, we have hostel attendance. The food served as well is pretty fine for me but I have heard mixed reviews from rest of my friends. Hostel for me is the best part though.

Infrastructure about University has been average. I can say that I may not be that satisfied with infrastructure. It is a 4-storey building with classrooms that are pretty big in size, and smart boards attached in almost every classrooms. We have separate washrooms with drinking water facilities in every floor, a conference hall, sports rooms, and library, which has been updated. It is pretty green in nature. In addition, has parking slots available.

Campus life so far has been good because University offers a lot of opportunities and platforms to create memories together. We have movie sessions on Saturdays, various clubs, and University funds certain movie shows and takes, field trips, and so on. It also conducts competition every year when participants from all over the states join us. Then, we have University level and University level, cultural fest.
