P. R. Pote is a very leading college in the Vidharbha region. It consists of the engineering and the management colleges both in one campus, in Amravati. It has an aim of providing professional education in the field of engineering. The college is mostly focused on creating versatile engineers. Here, we learn to apply our knowledge and skills to a productive use. It is very well versed with the competitive industry and the fast paced technological developments. It has one of the largest campuses in the eastern Maharashtra. The campus consists of two colleges for B. Tech. and MBA, and also residential facilities available for the faculties and their families. It is affiliated with the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. The college has a mission to develop professionals with strong ethics and human values for the betterment of the society.

I am currently in the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science department. But, there are six departments, which are, CSE, Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and telecommunication, electrical engineering in the B. Tech. course. The admission to the courses is done mostly through the MHT CET exam, the cut offs for my department is mostly around 80 percentile. Some of the seats are filled through the management rounds conducted by PRPCEM Amravati. After the results of the MHT CET exam were out, I thought, after analyzing the past trends of the CSE cut offs, that I will make it through. But this year, the cut offs were gone up, thus I cannot get a CSE seat. But now I am in the third year, I have no regrets for taking admission in the AIDS department. Because, the faculties taught us the importance of AIDS in today's world. Here the semester exams are not very hard. But the lecture schedule is quite strict, so you need to make some time for learning the skills in depth, which are in the course.

Before taking admission, I took advice from one of the alumni in the college, he told me that the teaching staff was too experience and rich in concepts. After my all months in the college, I understood that the teachers are good and respects every student’s thoughts. They use both, the traditional and the modern methods for teaching us. They ensure that the students understand all the concepts taught in the class rooms. Some of the faculties even check our note books and give some home works, so that the students to be on track with respect to their studies. They give us assignments before the exams, so as to help us in understanding the exam pattern and types of questions to be asked in the exam. Some are very friendly and help us even on text messages.

The training and placement cell help us in finding jobs. They are an integral part of the college. The placement officers of our T and P cell are spread across India and always looking for approaching the companies to recruit from our college. The placement cell is very actively managed and supported by the Head of Departments. There are some cell representatives that help us by giving all the information of the upcoming and ongoing placements, companies, and training sessions. There are two small cells in the T and P cell, which are, first, the entrepreneurial cell that provides an impetus for the students who want to start their own ventures, and second, the research and development cell, which help students develop new projects and do research in their interested domains.

There are two hostels for the students residing in the campus, and have a total capacity of 200 occupants. There are a total of 100 rooms, 2 students share one room. There is a toilet and bathroom attached with each room. Each room mate has facilities of one cot, on table and one chair along with a shared almirah in the room. The students have to bring their own mattresses and bed sheets. The hostels have dedicated maids who regularly come to clean the rooms and the surrounding premises. Solar heating system is installed in both the hostels for the availability of hot water in their rooms. Washing clothes is strictly restricted, but there are laundry services available on a payment basis. There are medical facilities available free of charge.

There is a Swami Vivekananda auditorium in the campus that has a total capacity of 1000 people at a time. The institute has banks and ATMs service on the campus for the convenience of the students. There is transportation facilities made available, such as bus service for students and professors, from their residing place in the campus, to their respective lecture halls, in the morning and evening. There is a central library which is committed to providing the up to date collections of every possible book required for the courses. There is a seminar hall for all the sessions conducted. There is an open space in the campus dedicated for yoga. The class rooms are well structured so that every student can see what the teacher is teaching and also has good ventilation. There is a sports room besides the auditorium, where all the sports equipments are placed and students can use them by entering into the record book kept there.

Techelons is the main event of our college. Many top inspirational models are invited to talk and guide the students. Such as Gaur Gopal Das, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and Shivani Didi from the Brahma Kumaris have visited us for the event. Ever year, there is a famous dahi handi competition held in our campus, where teams from all over Amravati come to compete and get recognized. Other events like the Ganesh celebrations and the garba nights are also conducted. The whole sponsorship money for organizing these events is given by the management of the college. There are some clubs like the IEEE student chapter ad Robotics club. A newly formed club, from our department, also called as the Data Science club, which is initialized, this year, for providing students with data science knowledge. I feel pride to be a member of the club and might be in future have the opportunity to lead the club.
