My college life at FCRIT has been a roller coaster ride. At first, I thought that I want to be the best student overall, in the college. But as the semester went by, I noticed some of the emerging talent in my friends and I felt the environment of real competition in the college. I wanted to be both good at co curricular activities as well as from the studies' point of view. But with time I understood that it isn't that easy as it would use to be in school. In a short span of time, since its establishment, the college has put itself in the league of the reputed colleges in Mumbai. Its reputation not only rests on the highly valued technical education that it provides, but also on the culture that it has maintained in the campus over the years. The college takes pride on being one of the few colleges that has N.B.A accredition for all the five of its branches.

Myself being in the IT branch, as I always wanted to take a deep dive into the IT sector. In or curriculum courses, we study the designing, development and implementation of computer based information systems. I knew some of the course basics before my admission, and thought that these were the only courses that I will study. But after taking admission, I saw that FCRIT provides many more skilled courses on computers for becoming self sustaining professionals. I took this because of the IT background that I have in my family, most of the people are IT professionals in my family. The academics here help us by empowering us for achieving excellence in technical education and advance research. Our college has some program specified outcomes that we gained throughout our years in the college, which we are applying the knowledge of it to define, analyze, build, test and integrate sub systems to provide solutions for real life problems.

Our faculties help us to become high quality developers in the field of information technology. They have deep understanding of the subject matter that they are teaching and are often at the fore front of research and innovations in their fields of study. Some of our faculties are so much passionate about their subjects that they have they have inspired me, ignited a similar passion in me and also always motivated me to achieve greater things in life. Some of my friends were going through depression, due to the low marks that they obtained in the examinations, thus felt empty within. Some of our faculties helped that mine friend to overcome his depression by giving him emotional support. They advised him and navigated him through him through the challenges he faced. So this was very kind of them to help him and by seeing this gesture by them felt very over whelming for me. Our principal is also a very good inspirational model to look at and always motivates the students through his speeches regularly.

We do have a training and placement cell. It has various strong connections with many companies and employers. They were the one that guided us through our internship offers and company job profiles and everything else. They helped us in getting our internships in our desired companies in our third year. They organized various workshops and seminars by bringing industry experts to the campus. These events provided us with valuable insights into current industry trends and practices. They also brought some of our successful alumni for seminars. They have maintained a very string alumni network. Talking about the stats of placements, the highest was 21 LPA and the average package offered was 5.5 LPA in our department. The computer department had a slightly greater average package which was 7 LPA. Most of the students who applied for going and sitting for placements were placed in the campus itself, thus they not needed to go for off campus companies.

No hostel facilities are there in the campus.

There is a very large library with reading halls, multimedia facilities, photocopying, inter library loans and referral schemes. There are six computer labs in the college with around 30 computers in each lab. Every computer has the latest i7 processor and also has fast wi-fi available through cables. There is a gym where my friends and I go for workout after our lectures at afternoon. It is fully air conditioned, has almost all the equipment as in other private gyms and also has a trainer available but it is on a paid basis. There are many grounds on the campus. The grounds are located on the other side of the road opposite to the college. It has world class grounds; it has a basketball court, hockey ground, cricket ground and a full Olympic size swimming pool. No other college in Navi Mumbai has this class and variety of sports available. All the district level sports competitions like the D.S.O. are held here. It also has a stadium like seating arrangement beside the basketball court.

There are seven clubs in our college. I am the chairperson of one of the club which is named as the Coder's club. I am designated with this responsibility in my third year itself. In the second year, I was a co committee member of the Coder's club and Agel Robotics Club. It is a thrilling job as a chairperson, as I have to head every meeting that is held in the club and informant guides everyone about their responsibilities and the activities that the members need to perform. I along with my club have held two hackathons and three fun coding games in the college till date and organizing everything from scratch to brining sponsors and logistics and watching that everything goes well, was a sweating job, but I loved the experience in the club. There are some professional bodies in the college that are somewhat specific to the departments and fields. Many cultural activities are held all over the year. But, the most exciting event is the sports competitions. Many of the students in the college are very good in various sports and our college helps them to take a strong grip on their sports, while focusing on the technical education too. I love my college so much as it focuses on both studies and sports.
