This is a quite good rated college in this region and not so disciplined but they will take appropriate action on students. The ambiance is not good at all and the infrastructure is normal, they do not have fancy architecture. The labs, workshops, and libraries are all well-equipped and the best part is that the faculty is knowledgeable but not advanced. And the placement opportunities are very high. Companies have started to come here for campus recruitment. Our seniors are working in all the top class well-known companies & 7-8 are abroad for jobs. I have not seen any abroad placement till now, I am hopeful for the upcoming years.

At Tatyasaheb Kore Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kolhapur, you get all engineering courses like Electrical engineering, Civil engineering, Chemical engineering, Electronic engineering, Mechanical engineering, and Environmental engineering. Unfortunately, no Aeronautical engineering. Diploma courses are also available. The eligibility criteria depend on your 10th and 12th marks or diploma. The minimum percentage is not fixed but on average I'll say that a minimum of 60% marks is required to take admission for engineering. I have done my B. E. in Civil engineering and I am happy that I graduated from this college.

The faculty is super supportive if you have any doubts, you can just go and ask them, they will never disappoint. The most interesting part is even if you are from another stream they will try their best. The teachers are quite good at teaching, but this depends on the teacher because in my experience there are 2-3 teachers who are not good at all. You will have to study subjects on your own.

You will get core companies for placement where you will able to learn or gain experience. There are many colleges in my region but only this college had most of the placements in the year 2021, there were a total of 230 placements in 3 streams of engineering. Civil has the lowest due to corona, but in 2023 Civil engineering has placements around 60+. The average package is between 1.3 to 8 LPA, which is not bad at this stage.

I was staying in the college hostel for 2 years and there are two different hostels, one for students whose parents were in the army, and one for regular students. In a single room, there are 3 students, and each floor has 6 bathrooms and 6 toilets. The cleaning of the toilet is done every day you get hot water. The girls’ hostel is different, but I have no idea about that, I just heard that they are more clean and tidy than the boys’ hostel. The girls’ hostel has security 24/7 and the police are also there. You get separate rooms for a single person which will cost you a little bit expensive in a single building which is 4 stories and have 5 single rooms and you have to pay 6 months advance at once otherwise someone other will get the room.

The infrastructure of the college is like a combination of all different courses, a medical college is there along with 10th & 12th . You also get access to the swimming pool, the basketball court, a huge ground, and many more. The library has all the required books and Wi-Fi is available in every building. CCTV system is available. The parking is not that big, but best for two-wheelers.

The annual function of the college is 3 days long, so you get so many opportunities to show your talent. There are many clubs like singing clubs, theatre clubs, cultural groups, music clubs, and dance and action clubs. Other colleges come to join the extracurricular activities like the talent hunt and presentation of your project. You will never get bored while roaming the campus. In TKIET there is a place called the science park and there is more interesting stuff to do in its mini amusement park.
