Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology is situated in Chikbalapur, Karnataka, which is in the outskirts of Bangalore. The college is very close to the major tourist attraction for the localities which is Nandi Hills. The college has a very calm and soothing vibe which suits perfectly for all the students to concentrate. The college is filled with different cultures, as students from different states are present here. The college aims in providing the finest leaders with the finest knowledge. The college is an Autonomous college which is affiliated to VTU, the institution is NBA and NAAC with 'A' grade accredited. The admission process is quite easy, I got an admission through COMEDK exam in which my rank was 52,106, so you need not have to worry if you are an average student, as the college provides seats. The ranking of the college given is AAA.

Now coming to the admission process, then the procedure I went through was quite simple, you need to take all the required documents, which includes your respective entrance exam results copy, passport size photos, aadhar card copy, tenth grade original score sheet and others, you need to submit it in the office. You’ll have to fill a form in which all details have to be given. The college management is very flexible, it handles every detail of the college with perfection. The management staff were kind enough to me when they had to handle my admission process. The academics of the college is great, the teachers serving here are filled with knowledge, the college provides great opportunities to all the students.

The course I chose is Bachelors in Civil engineering, I chose this stream as I was very much interested in it. And the college just increased my love for the subject with great teachers training all of us, the labs are huge with almost every equipment easily available. The college takes in candidates who have appeared for KCET, COMEDK, JEE. The subjects the college teaches are exceptional, all the subjects included are totally useful for getting jobs.

The college aims to provide right and apt knowledge required to crack placements and which will help us out to survive in any company. The college tries it’s best to train every single student as they aim in providing great professionals to the country.

The faculty here are all rounder. They do a great job when it comes to fests as well, they provide equal opportunities to all the students during any event. Even during seminars teachers are present to monitor the students. The teachers maintain class ethics and always do their job on point. When I joined the college, I was a little anxious on my first day but the teachers who came in were kind enough and made us feel at home.

The total number of teaching staff in the college is 165, a lot teachers teaching in the college are PhD holders, and few Bachelor degree, yet filled with amazing skills. The average year of experience for all the teachers is 3-5 years of minimum experience.

Placements in the college starts from the seventh semester, the college makes sure you intern in at least one company before the end of the course, one of the option where the college provides internship is in Nagarjuna Construction Company, this is a golden opportunity to all the students as it gives a lot of practical knowledge. The training for the placements starts off from the very beginning of the course itself, which I believe is quite effective, the placements team makes sure that the students are filled with confidence and knowledge by the time the placements come in. The training includes enhancing skills like Communication, Presentation, Dress codes, time management, Practical knowledge requires to crack the placement.

From the time you get in to seventh semester, every alternative week two companies will definitely come to the college, companies like BOSCH, Larsen and Turbo, TCL, HCL, Shobha Developers etc. The highest package I know is Rs. 9 lacs per annum, this package was bagged by a student from Civil Engineering course. The average placement package is Rs. 2-5 lacs per annum. The percentage of students who received placement in my senior batches are 85%.

Hostel life in this college is too good as there is a huge place given completely only for the Hostels, the hostel mess is decent enough with snacks also provided in the evening. There are separate Hostels for boys and girls, which make the girls feel secured. The rooms are clean, the water is clean and available all day. Students can take shower in hot water as well. Each room accommodates 3-4 students, this scenario was before Corona hit the world, since no institutions have reopened yet, no one has an idea what measures are taken in reality.

The hostel fee per annum costs around Rs. 90,000 (this was the fee structure for last year, it keeps increasing every year) the total number of rooms in Hostels are around 150, with more 600 students residing. The quality of the food given is good, but it would be nice if they change their breakfast menu. Every floor of the Hostel has a Warden who will always have an eye on the students, and every gate of the hostel has a guard, who will not let you inside the hostel after a particular time for boys entry after 10:30 is prohibited and for girls entry after 6:30 is strictly not encouraged. There are CCTV cameras installed in every place, so the students have to think twice to take any wrong step.

The college is huge, which is spread across 150 acres of land. The campus is filled with various types of trees, the play ground as well is too big, and there is a football court, basketball court present on the ground. Every course has it owns building, which consists of labs, staff rooms, class rooms, washrooms. The college also has solar panel installed which is one step towards Energy Conservation. The library of the college is the highlight, as the library alone is big. The library has all sorts of text books one would want for. There is space for the students to sit and study as well. The college has an auditorium which isn’t very big it’s a medium sized hall with a platform and chairs arranged this is the place where almost all the college activities are conducted.

There is a college canteen in the campus which is super huge, and has quite a lot of varieties on the menu. From Chinese to North Indian dishes you get everything, you can also treat yourself with your favorite fruit juice as there is a fruit juice corner in the canteen, not just this, you can also find a Cafe Coffee Day in the campus, which is situated under a tree, providing a beautiful view for all the coffee lovers. The classrooms are big in size, accommodating 30-40 students in each class. Washrooms are maintained well. There is a resting room in the campus, a place where students can go rest there until they feel better, the room consists of all the necessary first aid items required. The staff takes care of the student if anything goes wrong medically with the student.

The campus life is a very peaceful one, it’s a cut off from the noise of the city, and you can hear the wind blowing. There are many restaurants around the college which can be visited once in a while to spend some time with your friends. The college conducts various events every other week. All the festivals are celebrated with pomp and happiness.

The biggest fest of the college is IKEA, which is held every two years, this is an inter college fest which goes on for three days, with too many activities taking place, it’s a treat to your eyes. There are a lot of clubs which one can choose from according to their interests, I chose to be in the Toast Masters club, the other clubs are Sports club, Literature club, Drama club, Rotract club and many more.
