IIT Goa - Fulfill your education purpose

Overall Rating
Hello, I am from IIT Goa, wanted to share my review about the college. Firstly, you have to struggle a lot to get into any of the IITs in India and have to be fewer than 17k for general in new advanced. About college it’s one of the best colleges for placement after 4 years compared to other 3rd generation IITs but regarding college life it’s one of the worst IITs in 23 IITs as we don’t have our own campus to spend through. Faculty are outstanding, well educated, kind and anything you could expect from a teacher to be.
 

Academics Rating
The academics of IIT Goa is excellent as it has same syllabus as IIT Bombay because IIT Bombay was the mentor of IIT Goa my branch CSE has the syllabus that no other IIT could provide except Bombay to be eligible here in general you have to be in top 4.2k students and this IIT has option for branch change as well.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty here is well educated most of them have done their PhD from renowned universities and also some have job experience from known companies. Almost all faculties have teaching experience of 10 years and above. No one here would ignore or not teach properly here just you have to be brave enough to ask your doubts for the same.
 

Placement Rating
Here placements are outstanding compared to 3rd gen IITs and of my branch (CSE) has good packages from some of the 2nd gen IITs as well. So don’t worry at all about placements of this IIT.
 

Hostel Rating
We have very small hostel and about 500 people reside here. Having 2 floors 4 hostel buildings where 1 is of girls. If you are thinking of good infrastructure here, then you are in the wrong way.
 

Infrastructure Rating
This is the most worrying and depressing part of this IIT as it does not have its own campus and we are residing in GEC campus our all lectures take place in GEC lecture hall, and they are not as good as other IITs. So, if you want to enjoy your college life then you have to forget about this IIT because it does not have its own campus.
 

Campus Rating
There is Zero campus life here cause of no IIT Goa campus. But by listening the name Goa you can enjoy the beaches, clubs etc. which are 1 hour far from our hostel. There are no dedicated lecture halls of our IIT as it is currently in GEC campus and not its own one. So, if you want IIT Goa as your next 4 years to spend then you have to forget about the campus life. We have one waterfall near (15mins) from our hostel where you can enjoy.

    I mainly chose this institute of IIT Goa because It is very green and saw a best faculty in IIT Goa. The staff over here is very friendly. I would suggest the upcoming juniors to join this college. It has everything that a student need and has many labs to improve in many ways and it does not only focus on studies it also has various sports where the college could give the best athlete to the nation....     Overall, college is worth joining and studying. One of the biggest reasons is professors are the best. Academically college provides many opportunities and placement rate is better than many IIT's. There is not a permanent private campus available here.     The college is very good; it provides us various facilities like free Wi-Fi all over the campus, many outdoor and many indoor games like basketball, volleyball, table tennis, etc. The faculty is also very good, they help you in many ways like providing extra support other than lecture, you can meet them any time between 9 am to 6pm for their help etc. The people or I should say students (senior) are very good too, they help you in whatever way they can like providing previous year materials, org...
