Arni University Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Kangra

The male & female students enrolled at the University can avail residential facilities that are available inside the premises. There are 4 Arni University hostels in which the students are offered single and sharing rooms with AC & non-AC facilities.

The Arni University hostel fees range from Rs. 60,000/- to Rs. 75,000/- which also includes charges for mess.

Students who wish to reside in the hostel must submit an application form for the same along with the requisite documents. The Hostel Committee will approve the applications and grant hostel rooms to the students on a first-come-first-serve basis and subject to availability for at least one academic year.

• The aforementioned hostel fee is exclusive of the mess charges.
• Accommodation facilities are also available for the International students. However, the hostel fees for them are variable.
• The Arni University hostel security deposit paid by the students will be refunded to them after adjusting fines against damages or dues, if any.

To make certain that the students receive a homely and safe environment during their stay period at the residential spaces, certain rules & regulations have been laid down by the concerned authorities. It is mandatory for the boarders to abide by the hostel norms; the ones found guilty may have to face disciplinary actions or penalty shall be imposed on them.

• Hostellers are expected to keep their allocated rooms and the common areas clean & hygienic. Also, they cannot swap their rooms once allocated without the permission of the Warden.
• Students are not permitted to use TV, heater, electric iron, and other such electric appliances inside the Arni University hostel rooms. If any such appliances are found then the same will be confiscated.
• Tampering or making any structural changes in the hostel property and furniture provided is not permissible.
• Smoking, and consumption or supply of alcohol & other such intoxicants is strictly prohibited inside the Arni University hostel premises. Also, possession of lethal weapons or firearms is banned. If any resident is found to be guilty then they will be expelled and legal action may be taken against them.
• Staying back in the hostel during the class hours or times when presence is expected at the University is not allowed unless permission is taken from the Chief Warden.
• Boarders should ensure that they do not bully any of the fellow residents of the Arni University Kangra hostel or indulge in any kind of ragging activity as it is a punishable offence.
• Hostellers should return to the accommodation premises before 9:00 PM. Frequent late entries without any prior permission may result in disciplinary action against the defaulters.
• The study & silence hours at the hostel are practised from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. During this period, students are not allowed to roam in the corridor, visit others’ rooms, or create any disturbance.
• Students should take permission from the warden before organising any function / meeting / birthday party.
• The fans & lights of the allocated room must be switched off before leaving. If found, the concerned ones will be imposed a penalty.

The University has 3 separate hostels for the boys namely ‘H1’, ‘H2’, and ‘H3’, and 1 hostel is present for the girls. These residential facilities are present within the Arni University Campus wherein adequate amenities are available to facilitate a comfortable & safe stay to over 685 students. The daily chores, maintenance, and discipline at the accommodation premises are supervised by the Wardens & the members of the ‘Hostel Committee’.

The Arni University hostel rooms are granted to the students on a 1, 2, 3-seater sharing basis along with AC & non-AC options. The rooms are capacious and fully-furnished with cots, tables, chairs, wardrobe, etc. To make certain that the hostel premises are secured round the clock & students get a secure atmosphere, CCTVs are installed at strategic common locations and trained male & female security personnel are deployed.

There are 2 dining halls / mess facilities available at the residential premises wherein the hostellers are served with healthy and freshly prepared meals. For recreational purposes, common areas & facilities for Badminton & several other games are provided. Students can use Internet connection & the dedicated study space to finish their academic tasks and learn from the online resources.

The Arni University hostel features 2 separate dining halls, one each for the male & female residents. Here, around 300 students can be accommodated and they are served with nutritious and balanced meals that include a variety of seasonal food items.

A dedicated ‘Mess Committee’ has been established which also includes student representatives. The committee decides the mess menu and ensures that the meals are cooked under hygienic conditions. The mess charges are to be paid by the boarders at the beginning of the respective academic year; the annual mess fee is Rs. 40,000/-.

At the mess, the residents are served with vegetarian meals. The food services are available at fixed timings only; the details of the same are as follows:

• Breakfast: 7:45 AM to 8:45 AM
• Lunch: 12:50 PM to 1:40 PM
• Supper: 5:15 PM to 5:45 PM
• Dinner: 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM

Special Points to Consider:

Some of the factors related to mess facility that students should know about are stated below:

• On every Sunday, the food will be cooked & managed by the hostellers.
• Boarders are not permitted to carry or eat outside food inside the dining hall.
• Meals that are served at the mess cannot be taken to the hostel room. In case, sick students are confined to bed, they may be provided with meals in their room after taking permission from the Warden / Chief Warden.
