Jaypee University of Information Technology Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Solan

Jaypee University of Information Technology is a residential Institution and offers accommodation facilities via its hostels inside the campus. Around 4 JUIT Solan hostels are present for the students including ‘Azad Bhawan’, ‘Shastri Bhawan’, ‘Parmar Bhawan’, and ‘Geeta Bhawan’. Various wings / blocks are present under the specified hostels for junior and senior students.

In these hostels at the JUIT Solan, around 944 rooms in occupancies like single, double, and others are available which can accommodate about 1688 students in total including both boys and girls.

The University’s hostel charges depend on the room type a student is opting for. The JUIT Solan hostel fees for a year are between Rs. 1,68,000/- to Rs. 1,84,000/- (including room rent, laundry, and mess charges).

The management has specified a number of Jaypee University of Information Technology hostel rules for the students to follow; the details can be understood from the following pointers:

• Every student has to make biometric attendance while leaving and coming to the hostel.
• Hostellers should abide by the hostel in-timings which are 8:00 PM for summers and 7:30 PM for winters.
• Residents are restricted to possess lethal weapons or firearms inside the hostel rooms even if they have a license.
• Keepings pets like cats, dogs, etc. are banned at the hostels.
• During the study hours, inmates should not indulge in activities which can create nuisance and indiscipline at the premises like playing loud music, knocking the doors of other inmates at unusual hours, etc.
• For leaving outstation, it is mandatory for the hostellers to use out-pass slips. Also, students must have obtained prior permission from the parents and slip signed by the wardens before leaving the premises.
• Student’s indulgence in any sort of ragging act will not be tolerated by the management.

Home away from home facilities through the hostels are offered to both male & female students separately inside the JUIT Solan Campus. The boys’ hostel includes ‘Azad Bhawan’, ‘Shastri Bhawan’, ‘Parmar Bhawan’ and the girls hostel is named ‘Geeta Bhawan’. In these hostels, around 1688 students can reside at once.

In total, more than 940 JUIT Solan hostel rooms are present in single, double, and other sharing basis for the students. In the rooms, facilities like a bed with mattress, study table, racks, almirah, and other fixtures are provided to each student.

Sports facilities are available for hostellers including Handball Court, Football Field, Cricket Nets, Basketball Courts, and others. Indoor sports for Table Tennis, Chess, Carom, etc. are also available. With these, students get around 5 gymnasiums; 3 in boy’s hostel and remaining 2 are in girl’s accommodation spaces.

A dispensary is present at the premises with male & female doctors and other staff to provide medical support to the students. An ambulance is also available to commute students to the nearby hospitals in emergencies. At different points of the hostels, security guards are available and CCTV cameras are installed for ensuring the safety of the students.

A Mess Supervising Committee is available which makes sure about the hygiene, and quality of food. With the feedback of the students, the food menu is prepared on a weekly basis.

In Shastri Bhawan and Geeta Bhawan, a cafeteria is also available which serves food & beverages for the students till midnight at subsidised prices.
