Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics [GIPE], Pune Maharashtra was established in the year 1930 as Deemed to be University Educational Institute to provide higher education to build a career in the field of Science. GIPE is approved by the reputed UGC, and is accredited by NAAC.
Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics was established in 1930 and is amongst the oldest training and research institutes in the nation. The institute is committed to undertake research in all the domains of economics with the aim of social welfare and economic betterment of the society. It aims to impart quality education and conduct research on the economical and social problems at national and global levels and provides viable solutions for the betterment of the society.
GIPE was established with an objective of conducting research on socio-economic dimensions, study the changes in society, study development programs, and impart training to the individuals. It is registered under Bombay Public Trusts Acts 1950 and Societies Registration Act 1860. The institute was awarded the Deemed to be University status in 1993 and is approved by UGC.

GIPE has a Placement Cell which guides and supports the students. The Cell provides training to enhance the skills of the students, conducts pre-placement talks to generate awareness about the opportunities, mock interviews, group discussions, etc. It also helps the students to prepare resumes, organises seminars, conferences, and workshops, and conducts on-campus placements drives.
