Set up in the year 2015, the IFIM Law College Bangalore boasts of an industry-driven pedagogy. The College bears affiliation with the Karnataka State Law University (KSLU). Moreover, the College has the approval of the Bar Council of India.
The College is grouped under the prestigious IFIM Institutions that has a rich legacy of 24 years in imparting value-added education. Since inception, the Group has started several schools, offering courses in a host of disciplines. The Group made a foray in the education field during the year 1995. The Group’s founding body is the DSIJ Group – the publishers of the well-known Dalal Street Investment Journal. More so, the non-profit society, the Centre for Developmental Education (CDE) promotes the Group.
The College’s course curriculum is a mix of classroom learning and practical education. Even so, along with academics, the College seeks the students’ participation in extracurricular and co-curricular activities. In turn, there is holistic development of the pupils.
To encourage the student community to have more interactions, there is focus on organizing debates and international competitions by the College’s faculty team. Then, there is the College’s Placement Cell to tend to the pupils’ professional growth. The College has, also, partnered with AIESEC to provide internships for the pupils, including international ones.
The College understands that the students can widen their horizon by interning abroad. Additionally, in the process, the pupils learn to adapt to a multicultural environment and communicate with people hailing from different backgrounds. This experience paves the way for the growth of the students into globally-competitive professionals. Further, international internships add value because the pupils get placements more easily.
Moreover, the College has MOUs with international Universities - such as the University of Applied Sciences Lubeck in Germany, and the ESC Rennes Business School in France, and the University of Wollongong in Australia. Besides, the College has International collaborations with Brooklyn Law School, USA. For promoting research, the College has an MOU with NLSIU Bangalore, as well.
IFIM Law College campus provides state-of-the-art infrastructure that allows for the students to develop holistically. There are computer centers that have digital learning resources. Besides, there are efforts to update the IFIM Law College Library with all the educational tools that aid learning. Herein, the students have access to a large database of national and international legal titles. Also, they can access online databases, e-journals, books, project reports, and books. In fact, the College’s library is fully automated and well-stocked. In all, the Library extends all the required assistance for knowledge dissemination and conducting research.
The IFIM Law College admission procedure includes conducting personal interviews for the selected candidates. All the same, for admitting candidates, their academic credentials and performance in interviews are taken into consideration. With an aim to create a multi-cultural environment while conforming to a non-discriminatory approach, the College invites applications from people of varied backgrounds.
To promote students who hail from less-privileged backgrounds, the College offers scholarships. Though, the applicants must read the eligibility criteria of the College’s IFIM Law School Scholarships and IFIM Alumni Scholarship prior to applying.
As part of the College’s efforts to familiarize the budding lawyers with law court proceedings, mooting culture has gained prominence on the campus. Also, many students have taken part in International Moot Court proceedings.
Indeed, the College has a fully-equipped moot court, having the capacity to accommodate 700 people. Further, there are projectors, drop-down screens, and live broadcasting facilities to enhance the overall experience. Indeed, moot courts are describable as the laboratories of law schools where there are real-world situations for testing the candidates’ theoretical knowledge. A host of legal seminars and webinars are conducted herein, too.
As per the Careers 360 Best Law School in India Survey 2019, the IFIM Law College Ranking in India is 17th Ranking. Also, the College’s BBA LLB program is rated the 10th Best in India. Moreover, the CSR-GHRDC Law School Survey 2018 awarded 4th Rank to IFIM Law School.
