In 1969, the foundation of Christ University was laid down in Bangalore with the vision of nurturing individuals with quality education and assisting them in their holistic development so that they can make effective contributions to society. The University got its approval from UGC and AICTE. It is also accredited with NAAC, NBA, and NIRF.

The Placement Office at the University assists students in exploring new career and employment opportunities. The Office also helps them in planning their career so that students can collect information regarding their aptitudes, interests, and capabilities in order to select their profession wisely. The key purpose of Christ University Placement department is to inculcate professional behaviour in students by training them in employability enhancement abilities like interview skills, logical reasoning, group discussions, resume building, and aptitude skills. It also makes sure that each student is provided with placement opportunities.

The campus of Christ University is located on the Bangalore-Hosur Main Road on the National Highway Extension 17. The campus is located around 8 Km away from KSR Bangalore Railway Station and approximately 41 Km far from Kempegowda International Airport. The central campus of the University is spread over an area of around 55.77 acres that facilitates students with approximately 11 Seminar Halls, 269+ Smart Classrooms, Auditoriums, and many more facilities. The foundation of Christ University laid in the year 1969, and on July 22nd, 2008 it became a reckoned University and education institute under Section 3 of UGC act. Its aims are providing higher education and building careers of students in various disciplines like Management, Engineering, and Humanities. The reputed NAAC-A and UGC affiliated the Christ University. The University management is under the supervision of Dr. Thomas C Matthew who is presently serving as a Vice-Chancellor. The Catholic priests of CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) assist him in institute management.
The University provides world recognized undergraduate and postgraduate programs along with some research and development curriculums. The courses are available in various fields like Science, Social Science, Computer Application, Business Administration, Social Work, Hotel Management, Engineering and Tourism, Commerce, Law, Mass Communication, and Humanities. The college has a community of 700 international students hailing from around 58 nations.
Christ University, Bengaluru was the dream of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara who envisioned the institute. Today the University ranks as a top private University in India by Nielsen Survey- conducted by India Today in the year 2017. It got an A grade accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The University now has 18000 students and about 800 staff members. CU is the first home-grown Syrian Catholic religious assembly of India. The University is open to all groups and is secular in its very basic form.
