Oakbrook Business School Reviews on Placement, Faculty, Hostel by Students

I would not like to beat around the bust as I know the importance of the degree that I hold and the success that I have today because of Oakbrook Business School. Just like every other B.Com or commerce student, I decided to spend a year to prepare for entrance exams. It was during this time that I realized that how far I am in terms of knowledge by doing just a simple B.Com. I knew I can’t make it to big business school and even my parents can’t afford the donation fees that it requires to get admission there. Therefore, I myself short-listed few colleges that have good placement records and the fees is also something that my parents can afford. There were just a few and OBS was one of them. They accept various entrance exams scores but my decent CMAT score helped me get in the college. One thing that I can say is that when I look back now, I know the mistakes that our education system has and also the mismatch between graduation and post-graduation. I wanted to get out of Ahmedabad, but my destiny stopped me at Ahmedabad. I couldn’t score well at the other entrances and the only college that was happy with my score was the one and only Oakbrook Business School. The college is at a fair distance from my residence and after a lot of convincing my parents allowed me to stay at the residency provided by the college. Since the college is managed by big guns who have friends in some of the top corporate of India, the college will assure you placements and exposure. The college mostly has students from nearby though few students from other states also joined OBS and that made me feel like, finally I am at a place where there are students outside Gujarat as well. This itself was an exposure for me and career wise the opportunities and exposure provided by the college was enough to get me placed at a bank that is just 10 minutes drive from my home.Read Full Review

OBS requires a high score in CMAT only then you will be eligible to enter the college. The college is one the prestigious B School in Gujarat and students from various states of India are a regular in this college. The college is located at the SG Highway and 80% of the students are chosen via merit. The college has enough management quota seats and that is how I entered the college. The academic calendar of the college is very tight as the semester starts in June and ends in December. Just after a 15 days break we are again back in the classes. OAKCOM which is a national conference program where industrialists like Gautam Adani and Dilip Sanghvi came and gave us an insight on how the working culture in India is and what they expect from the management students. All these and various other opportunities that the college provided was just too good and as a past student of Oakbrook B-School I feel so blessed.Read Full Review
