PSG College of Pharmacy offers several undergraduate, postgraduate and research level programs in Pharmacy. Some courses with detailed information are as under:
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
It is a four-year full-time course. A candidate who wants to seek admission to this course must meet the eligibility criteria. They should pass 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Zoology or Mathematics with minimum 35% marks for SC/ST candidates and 40% for all other categories, including theory and practice. The college has 60 seats for B.Pharm. The course will help in increasing the number of health professionals. It validates the candidate entry in pharmaceutical manufacturing, hospital pharmacy, quality management, drug development, and research.
Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm)
M.Pharm is a two-year full-time course available in the streams of pharmaceutics, pharmacy practice, and pharmaceutical analysis. The admissions to this course start after the result declaration of B.Pharm. A candidate who completed his bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy is eligible to apply for this course. The course offers systematic education on synthesis, formulation, procuring, standardization and marketing of medicines.
Post-Baccalaureate (Pharm D.)
The course is a three-year on-campus degree. A candidate who passed 10+2 from a government recognized board or university is eligible to apply for this course. The SC/ST candidates have age relaxation. It is a new course introduced in the pharmacy field of education. The opportunities that await a post-baccalaureate are Community Pharmacy, Regulatory Affairs, Hospital Pharmacy, Clinical Trials, and Academics.
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D.)
It is a degree-type on-campus course of six years duration. The eligibility criteria for admission to this course is a candidate must pass 10+2 with Chemistry and Physics as mandatory subjects and Mathematics or Biology as optional. The aspirant should pass D. Pharm from a government approved institution by the Pharmacy Council of India under Pharmacy Act Section 12. Pharmacy is a field that leads the community towards a healthy life. The clinical skills and knowledge of pharmacy students make them a resource of drug information for nurses and patients.
