Longowal Group of Colleges [LGC], Mohali Punjab was established in the year 1986 as Private Educational Institute to provide higher education to build a career in the field of Engineering, Management and Computer Applications. LGC is approved by the reputed AICTE, NCVT, DGET and DTE, and is affiliated with IKG-PTU, Jalandhar.
Longowal Group of Colleges was established in 1986. The group of colleges consists of Longowal Academic College, WCITI, and Longowal Polytechnic College. The Longowal Group of Colleges has been laid down under Lala Wazir Chand Charitable Trust, and is approved by AICTE, DGET, PTU, etc. Longowal Academic College is affiliated to I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.

Longowal Group of colleges provide numerous courses pertaining to various fields, such as, BBA, BCA, B.Sc, B.Com, M.Sc, PGDCA, ITI, etc. The colleges also provide diplomas in polytechnic courses as well as provide paramedical courses.
Online admissions are provided by Longowal Group of Colleges, to the students who are eligible for admission into the courses they choose. The eligibility criteria are different for different courses, and only those candidates can apply who successfully fulfill the eligibility criteria for admissions. Numerous scholarships are provided by Longowal Group of Colleges, in order to provide financial support to the students who belong from economically weaker backgrounds, or are meritorious and deserve to be rewarded. The colleges coming under the group provide several scholarship schemes for students who are merit holders, belong from EWS/ SC/ ST category, are state or national level sportspersons, are single girl child, etc. The criteria of scholarship is decided as per the marks obtained by the students in their qualifying examination. A 100% fees concession is provided to the students who belong from general category and have obtained above 90% marks in qualifying exam. For SC/ ST & EWS students 100% concession in fees is provided, if they have obtained passing marks in qualifying exams.
