The IITM Janakpuri campus is spread over a lush green land of approximately 0.78 acres. Students of the Institute are provided with requisite facilities for their all-round development such as lecture theatres, labs, library, auditorium, seminar halls, sports, gymnasium, and much more. Additionally, ramps, wheelchair accessible pathways, elevators, etc. have been constructed inside the campus of IITM Janakpuri so that physically-disabled students can access these facilities seamlessly.
Students can access the Internet across the campus for their academic pursuits. The Institute’s lecture theatres / classrooms / tutorial rooms are centrally air-conditioned and are well-equipped with the latest ICT aids for fostering a productive learning environment among students.
Inside the IITM Janakpuri campus, there is an auditorium with a seating capacity of more than 240 students and is used for hosting workshops, conferences, seminars, and other cultural activities. It is centrally air-conditioned and has a LCD projector & other such modern multimedia aids.
The centralised AC board rooms of the Institute are well-equipped with amenities like smart boards, LCD projectors, and various other multimedia systems. At this venue, students’ academic activities like seminars, project discussions, presentations, and guest lectures are conducted. Other facilities available within the premises include hi-tech seminar rooms / halls, syndicate rooms, audio recording studio, video production cafe, and demonstration areas, to name a few.
Academic Facilities
Some of the major amenities offered to students at the campus to enrich their learning experience are discussed below:
- Library: The Institute has 2 libraries, one for Undergraduate students and the other for the Postgraduate ones. A huge collection of learning materials are present in the libraries including approximately 44,743 volumes, 6193 titles, 76 National & International journals, more than 12 magazines, 11 newspapers, project reports, biographies, and many more.
The reading rooms of the libraries are huge and fully air-conditioned. More than 16 PCs with Internet connection are available here so that students can access the Institution-subscribed online learning platforms such as DELNET, NDLI, Shodhganga, E-ShodhSindhu, e-PGPathshala, and several others. Other facilities that are available for students include scanning and reprography, Current Awareness Service (CAS), circulation, book bank, and more.
- Laboratories: Within the Institute of Information Technology and Management Janakpuri campus, there is a centrally air-conditioned, multi-lab computer centre and numerous labs with a total of approximately 392 PCs for students.
These labs’ workstations are connected to 50 Mbps Internet and students can use the same for improving their digital skills and for other academic purposes. Some of the labs that are equipped with hi-tech amenities are iMac lab, Language lab, IoT lab, and more.
Non-Academic Facilities
Apart from the academic ones, ample other facilities are offered to students by the Institute with the aim to enrich their overall campus experience. Separate common rooms for girls and boys are present in the campus for recreational purposes. More non-academic facilities are described below:
- Sports: Inside the IITM Janakpuri campus, there is a sports centre and other rooms wherein facilities for indoor games like Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Power Lifting, and more are offered to students.
Other than this, students are provided facilities for outdoor sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, Cricket, Badminton, Tennis, Football, Kho Kho, Discus Throw, and many others. The Institute conducts the annual sports event and other activities to develop team spirit among students and support them in maintaining their overall health.
- Canteen: There is a canteen and a ‘Nescafe’ outlet at the Institute which has adequate seating arrangement for students and faculties. These eateries are well-maintained and different snacks, beverages, and meals are available in the menu to cater to the diverse taste preferences of the students.
- Medical Facilities: Within the premises of the Institute, a ‘Medical Room’ is available wherein students are provided with basic first-aid and other required medical services. Besides this, Doctors are also available on call for providing medical assistance to students.
- Gymnasium: At the Institute’s gymnasium, various training equipment are available. Students are encouraged to exercise in the gym so that they can improve their physical and mental well-being.
The Institute has formed numerous clubs and committees for the students to participate in so that they can refine their talents. Also, many disciplinary committees have been established that actively function to ensure discipline and adequate decorum is maintained inside the Institute of Information Technology and Management Janakpuri campus.
