Just to get the revaluation fees, students are given back in masses. Having back in three or four subjects is quite common. Even the exam results are declared four months after the next semester starts. Thus, if you include vacation and semester period, one has to stay depressed for at least five months. Attendance was never compulsory as one was free to come whenever they like. You attend the lectures or not, and it doesn't matter as it would be of no help in any sense.
