AP ECET 2026: Exam Date, Registration, Eligibility, Syllabus, and More

The AP ECET 2026 will be conducted possibly on 6^th May 2026 in 2 shifts. In order to appear for the entrance exam, students will have to register themselves. The AP ECET registration 2026 link will be available likely from 12^th March 2026 till 7^th April 2026. The AP Engineering Common Entrance Test, popularly known as AP ECET is a State level entrance test. It is conducted for lateral entry admission in the B.E, B.Tech, and B.Pharm courses in the participating Institutions of Andhra Pradesh.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA) will conduct the AP ECET exam on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). Through the entrance test scores, Diploma holders & B.Sc graduates (with Mathematics as one of the optional subjects) can get admission in the B.Tech, B.E, and B.Pharm programs offered by the participating Colleges / Institutes / Universities of Andhra Pradesh.

The AP ECET 2026 exam will be held for different streams in the morning & afternoon session. The details of the expected session-wise streams are given below:

The registration for the AP ECET 2026 can be done via online mode only from 12^th March 2026 to 7^th April 2026 tentatively. Aspiring candidates can apply for the entrance test by navigating ‘cets.apsche.ap.gov.in’. Post the deadline of the AP ECET Registration 2026, a late fee will be applicable for those applying tentatively from 12^th April 2026 till 28^th April 2026.

Moreover, applicants have to pay Rs. 600/- (Rs. 550/- for BC & Rs. 500/- for SC / ST categories) as the examination fee.

Students should make certain that they prepare for the AP ECET 2026 as per the syllabus specified by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA), conducting body.

The AP ECET Syllabus 2026 is different for various streams; the details of the same are stated below:

For Engineering

The curriculum for the Engineering stream includes the following sections:

For Pharmacy

For B.Sc

B.Sc graduates who are applying for admission in the B.Tech program have to prepare sections like Mathematics, Analytical Ability, and Communicative English.

The AP ECET 2026 will be held in English medium only via Online Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The duration of the entrance exam will be 3 hours wherein the appearing candidates will have to attempt a total of 200 questions.

In accordance with the AP ECET Exam Pattern 2026, the question paper for each of the streams will contain different sections. Furthermore, each of the questions will carry 1 mark, and no deduction in marks will be done for incorrect answers.

The AP ECET Admit Card 2026 will be made available for download by the conducting body on 1^st May 2026 (tentative). Students can download their hall ticket for the AP ECET 2026 by entering the Registration Number, Qualifying Exam Hall Ticket Number, and Date of Birth, and then press the ‘Download Hall Ticket’ tab.

Aspirants are suggested to thoroughly check the details mentioned in the admit card like Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Subject, Category, etc. In case there are any discrepancies, students are required to report to the concerned authorities at the exam centre promptly.

* If all the photographs submitted during the application process are not identical then in such a case, the admit cards will not be issued for the concerned students leading to the rejection of their application.

The AP ECET 2026 will be held in various test centres. Applicants will have to choose a minimum of five AP ECET Exam Centres 2026 while completing the application form. The exam centres have to be selected in the order of preference from the options available in the respective drop-down list. The test centre will be allotted to the aspirants on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Note: Candidates should know that the Convener has the right to allocate any other exam centre in case of unavoidable circumstances.

Applicants who aspire to secure excellent results in the AP ECET 2026 should strategise well. A few of the tips for an effective AP ECET Preparation 2026 that can help students obtain the desired marks are given below:

• Read the comprehensive syllabus thoroughly & accordingly prepare a study plan to complete the curriculum effectively on time.
• Refer to limited & authentic resources to avoid clutter and burden of finishing lengthy learning materials.
• Understand the paper pattern of the entrance examination well in advance so that there is no confusion on the actual exam day.
• Solve ample previous year papers & attempt mock tests to develop time management skills & reduce exam anxiety.
• Be consistent with revision, and identify the strengths & weaknesses. Based on this, create a targeted study plan to hone the required skills & boost overall confidence.

The conducting authority i.e., JNTUA has specified certain protocols that the appearing students are obligatory to follow on the AP ECET 2026 exam day. Some of the regulations are given below:

• Make sure to reach the allocated centre at least 15 -30 minutes before the exam timings to complete the requisite formalities. Candidates will not be permitted to enter the test hall after the commencement of exam & leave the hall till the specified exam duration ends.
• Biometric verification i.e., photograph & left-thumb impression of the applicants will be taken at the centre. Avoid applying ink / henna / other such external substances on hands or feet that might hinder the verification process.
• Students are supposed to carry the printout of their admit card, original & valid ID proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter ID / Passport), and a blue / black ball point pen to the AP ECET 2026 exam centre.
• Carrying electronic gadgets like calculators, mobile phones, smart / digital watches etc., and other items such as logarithmic tables, huge spectacles, sheets of paper, or any other suspicious materials is forbidden inside the test hall.
• Attentively listen & follow the instructions given by the invigilator. If found to be indulged in any wrongdoings / impersonation, the candidature of such applicants will stand cancelled & may lead to criminal prosecution.
• In case there are any hardware or technical issues / emergency / first aid / other assistance required, students should bring the issue to the notice of the Supervisor or Chief Superintendent in-charge.
• Avoid carrying personal valuable articles to the exam centre; the authority will not be responsible for any such losses.
• Sheets will be provided in the test hall for rough work. Return the rough sheets to the proctor before leaving the examination hall.

Solving the previous year papers is considered as a prominent preparation plan that can assist the students in improving their chances of obtaining excellent results in the AP ECET 2026. Aspiring candidates are advised to practise as many past year papers along with the AP ECET Previous Year Question Papers to boost their overall preparation & develop efficient time management skills.

The conducting authority will make the AP ECET Mock Test 2026 available on the official website to help aspirants become familiar with the online test process and pattern of the entrance examination. Candidates should attempt the mock test to monitor their preparation level for the AP ECET 2026 & improve their shortcomings.

The exam conducting authority i.e., Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur will release the preliminary AP ECET Answer Key 2026 on the official website i.e., ‘cets.apsche.ap.gov.in’ possibly on 8^th May 2026.

Candidates who appeared for the AP ECET 2026 will be able to access their Student Response Sheet by entering the Registration Number, and ECET Hall Ticket Number, and then select the ‘Get Key Details’ tab. If there is any disparity in the answer key, applicants can raise their objections till 10^th May 2026 (tentative).

* The Online Answer Script images of the entrance test will be available for a period of 6 months from the date of announcement of results.

The AP ECET Result 2026 will be released on ‘cets.apsche.ap.gov.in’ a few days after the exam is held. The result & the rank card for the AP ECET 2026 will be available separately. Students will be able to access the same by providing the Registration Number, ECET Hall Ticket Number & the Date of Birth, and then click on the ‘View Result’ button.

Aspirants will be ranked in the order of marks secured in the entrance examination. For Engineering, students will be ranked separately in each branch. Moreover, requests for revaluation & re-totalling will not be taken into consideration under any circumstances.

The conducting body will implement different methods to resolve ties between candidates securing the same marks for the purpose of preparing the AP ECET 2026 rank list and granting admission. The methods that will be used to break the tie for different streams are discussed below:

For Engineering

Two or more students securing equal aggregate marks in the Engineering stream will be first evaluated based on their marks in the Engineering subject. If the tie still persists then, their marks in the Mathematics subject will be considered.

Further, in case of continuation of tie, the scores in Physics subject will be analysed for deciding the relative ranking. In case, aspirants have secured equal marks in each of the 4 subjects then, their ranks will be bracketed.

For Pharmacy

For B.Pharm, aspiring students who have secured equal marks in aggregate will be granted the same rank.

For B.Sc

Candidates who have applied for admission in B.Tech on the basis of B.Sc program & have obtained the same aggregate scores will be first judged on the basis of their performance in the Mathematics subject. If the tie remains then, such applicants will be awarded the same rank.

Note: For all the aforementioned streams, admission to applicants with the same rank will be offered based on age, with preference given to the older candidates.

Cut-off is the minimum qualifying marks which are needed for qualifying the entrance test. As per the conducting body, candidates are required to have obtained at least 25% aggregate score in the 4 subjects (3 subjects in case of B.Sc) i.e., 50 marks out of 200 in the AP ECET 2026. However, there are no minimum qualifying marks set for applicants belonging to the SC / ST categories.

* Students who have claimed the benefit of relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks under SC / ST category & are later found to be ineligible; their obtained rank will be cancelled.

Students who have qualified AP ECET 2026 will further have to attend the AP ECET Counselling Process 2026. For lateral entry, 10% seats each over & above the sanctioned intake will be filled by the Un-Aided Private Professional Institutions (Minority & Non-Minority), and University Colleges, respectively.

During the AP ECET Seat Allotment 2026, B.Sc graduates will be considered for admission only after exhausting all the qualified Diploma holders.

Through the AP ECET 2026 scores, students will be eligible for lateral entry admission in the B.E, B.Tech, and B.Pharm courses offered by the University Colleges, and Un-Aided Private Professional Institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) of Andhra Pradesh.
