MH CET Law Eligibility Criteria 2026: Check Nationality, Age Limit, Aggregate Score & Qualifications

The MH CET Law eligibility criteria 2026 is stated by the conducting authority i.e., State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. To be considered for taking the exam for admission to the 5-year Integrated LL.B course, students should have completed 12^th Class / 3-year Engineering Diploma / equivalent. Academic Qualifications

The following educational qualifications have been mentioned in the MH CET Law exam eligibility criteria:

• For 5-Year Integrated LL.B: Completed 12^th Standard / other equivalent in 10+2 pattern from an Institution in Maharashtra. Moreover, students who have cleared a 3-year Engineering Diploma will also be eligible.
• For 3-Year LL.B: Qualified a Bachelor’s Degree and / or 2 / 3-years Master’s Degree in 10+2+3 and / or 2 / 3 pattern from an educational Institution located in Maharashtra.

Special Points to Note:

Some of the factors related to educational qualifications mentioned in the MH CET Law eligibility criteria 2026 that students should be informed in advance are as follows:

• The final qualifying examination appearing students will be allowed to take the entrance test.
• Class 10^th & 12^th may be completed through Regular / Correspondence / Distance / NIOS / equivalent mode. However, in case of Integrated LL.B, students who have passed 10+2 from an Open / Distance mode without having qualified 1^st to 9^th Class will be ineligible.
• Applicants who have cleared Undergraduation or Postgraduation through Regular / Distance / Correspondence / Open University / Deemed University / Institute of Distance & Open Learning (IDOL) method will also be eligible.
• Post Graduate Diploma will not be considered equivalent to Post Graduation Degree in case of admission to LL.B Degree.
• For Integrated LL.B, students who have passed 11+1 / A-Level from a recognised Foreign Board in a different country are eligible provided the Institution is also located in Maharashtra state.
• Students planning to secure admission in the Integrated LL.B course should know that they should not have a gap of less than 2 years between 10^th & 12^th Grade as mentioned in the MH CET Law eligibility criteria 2026.

Qualifying Marks

Aspiring candidates belonging to Open / All India Candidature (OMS) / SEBC / EWS category should have obtained at least 45% aggregate marks in order to be eligible for taking the MH CET Law Exam. Moreover, for VJNT / SBC / OBC and SC / ST students belonging to Maharashtra, the minimum passing marks in aggregate are 42% and 40%, respectively.

*The percentage secured by the applicants in the last qualifying examination will be calculated by rounding off the same up to two places after decimal. This condition will be applicable only if the students have obtained more than the mentioned minimum passing marks.

Age Limit

According to the MH CET Law eligibility criteria 2026, no upper age limit has been prescribed.

Nationality

Students belonging to Indian Nationality are eligible to take the MH CET Law 2026.

*It is to be noted that NRI, PIO, OCI, Foreign Nationals, and Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC) are not needed to appear for the entrance exam. Such candidates are only required to register for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds.

Along with the eligibility conditions discussed above, students have to meet the below-mentioned candidature types as stated in the MH CET Law eligibility criteria 2026:

All India Candidature: As per the MH CET Law eligibility criteria 2026, Indian Nationals who have completed their UG and / or PG degree (for LL.B) and SSC and HSC / equivalent (for 5-year Integrated LL.B), as applicable outside Maharashtra, and have Domicile / Birth Certificate of a different state will be eligible under this category.

*Applicants who have completed SSC & HSC / equivalent in Maharashtra but are not born in the same State will be considered under All India category.

Minority Candidature: Students having Maharashtra domicile and belonging to a particular linguistic / Religious Minority Community within the same State as per the Government norms are eligible. Such students should have qualified UG and / or PG (for LL.B) and SSC and HSC / equivalent (for 5-year Integrated LL.B), as applicable from Maharashtra.

In accordance with the MH CET Law eligibility criteria 2026, the following seats will be reserved for the students belonging to reserved categories of Maharashtra:

*Apart from the aforementioned information, reservation including supernumerary seats will be available for sons / daughters of Defence Service Personnel, PwD, EWS, orphans, Jammu and Kashmir migrants, etc.
