NID DAT Registration 2027 (Ongoing): How to Fill Application Form, Fees, Last Date, Documents

The NID entrance exam registration 2027 has been started by the conducting body from 10^th September 2026. Students who wish to take the entrance test should make sure that they apply for it before the NID entrance exam 2027 registration last date i.e., 30^th November 2026. The National Institute of Design (NID) conducts the National level entrance test i.e., NID DAT. Students can finish their NID entrance exam registration 2027, appear & qualify the test and secure admission in the 5.5 year Integrated M.Des, B.Des, and M.Des programs offered at its campuses and other participating Institutions.

Students will be needed to pay a fee while completing the NID entrance exam registration 2027. The exam fees can be paid using any of the below-listed online methods:

The application fees for the NID Entrance Exam 2027 are variable for different categories; the details about the same are given below:

* For the Foreign Nationals - overseas (supernumerary) students, the application fees is US $125 (US $83 for M.Des at NID Haryana & NID Madhya Pradesh).However, the equivalent amount in Indian currency of the specified fees will be rounded off to Rs. 100/- higher when the admissions are announced.

** The fees mentioned above are exclusive of additional Bank / convenience charges. Any such extra amount, as applicable, shall have to be paid by the applicant.

The application process for the entrance test is entirely online. Students can follow the below-mentioned step-by-step procedure to precisely fill the form and validate the candidature for the exam:

Step 1: Sign Up / Complete the Registration

• Visit ‘admissions.nid.edu/NIDA2027’ and click on the ‘Signup’ button to start the process for NID entrance exam registration 2027.
• The Sign-Up form will appear on the screen. Fill information under the displayed fields without any error and submit it. Some of the fields are Full Name, Program, Nationality, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email Address, etc.
• Now, enter the password in the respective field, re-enter the same, accept the declaration, and press on the ‘Get OTP’ tab.
• Separate OTPs will be sent on the registered email address and mobile number. Enter the OTP to verify the credentials provided.
• Post this, select the ‘Submit’ option in the Sign-Up form. A pop-up will appear on the screen comprising details provided during NID exam 2027 registration. Check it thoroughly, accept the declaration, and choose the ‘Confirm & Sign Up’ button.

* In case there is any mistake, click on the ‘Edit’ option to rectify the same.

• After successful registration, the login details will be sent to the registered email ID.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form and Upload Documents

• In the pop-up, press on the ‘Proceed to Login’ tab. Provide the registered email address, date of birth, and password & select the ‘Login’ button.

* Those who have already registered can directly click on the ‘Login’ option available on the homepage of the official website.

• In the dashboard that appears, choose the ‘Application Process’ tab.
• Fill the NID DAT exam 2027 application form accurately and then either click on ‘Save & Exit’ to save the provided information and complete the remaining process later or select the ‘Save & Proceed to Upload Photograph’ tab to finish the further formalities.
• After uploading the documents in the prescribed format, select the ‘Save & Go to Payment’ tab.

Step 3: Pay Application Fees

• The amount to be paid will be displayed on the next page that appears. Accept the declaration and choose the ‘Proceed to Payment’ button.
• The transaction reference number will be displayed on the screen. Note it down for further reference and choose the ‘Make Payment’ tab to move ahead.
• Once the payment is successful, the page will be redirected to the ‘Print’ section. Keep a printout of the submitted form for further reference.

* The application form will be considered as complete only if the candidates can view, download, and print the auto-generated form.

** If students are found to be providing false / incomplete information in the application form then NID reserves the right to terminate their candidature.

Here are some important factors that applicants should know about the NID entrance exam registration 2027 in advance:

• Students are permitted to either apply for the Integrated M.Des / B.Des / M.Des program.
• Only one application form has to be submitted for both NID DAT Prelims and Mains.
• The conducting body will permit only those individuals who have submitted the application form accurately and satisfy the eligibility conditions.
• In case students wish to apply for admission in M.Des program in more than one campus then they will be required to submit a separate form for each of the desired campuses.
• The exam fees once paid is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances, even if the application form is rejected due to ineligibility of the candidates.
• Submitting the application form is not sufficient; candidates should meet the NID Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria 2027 or else they will not be permitted to take the test.

In case the password is lost or applicants forget it after NID entrance exam registration 2027, they can recover the same by practising the following method:

• In the login page, press on the ‘Forgot Password’ option.
• A new page will be displayed; in the same, provide the registered email address and date of birth in the respective fields. Choose the ‘Submit’ button.
• The password will be reset automatically and the auto-generated password will be sent to the registered email address.

While completing the NID entrance exam application form, students will be required to upload the following documents:

Caste / Tribe / Disability / Third Gender Certificate

Students belonging to reserved categories or the third gender individuals have to upload the requisite certificates in PDF format and the size of the document should not exceed 1 MB.

Passport

The Foreign Nationals (Overseas) have to provide the first & last page of the passport in the application form. The maximum file size specified is 1 MB and the accepted format is JPG / JPEG.

Photograph

In the application form of the NID Exam 2027, the photograph has to be scanned & uploaded while considering the following criteria:

• It should be coloured and clicked in a professional studio against a white background. Self-composed portraits will be rejected.
• While taking the photograph, aspirants should look straight into the camera and the whole face should have a clear view. Hair / cloth / shadow should not cover the main features of the face like eyes, nose, lips, cheeks, and chin.
• For students who wear spectacles, glares should not appear on it. Also, spectacles must not be tinted or dark and have to be clear.
• The candidate’s facial features should cover at least 80% space of the photograph.
• It should not be taken before 1^st September of the respective academic year.
• The document has to be uploaded in JPG / JPEG format.
• The minimum & maximum specified size of the document is 50 KB and 200 KB, respectively.

Signature

The guidelines to upload the signature are mentioned below:

• Students must sign on a white paper using black ink pen only.
• The signature should be scanned properly and mobile captured images will not be permitted.
• Format of the document should be JPG / JPEG.
• The document size should not be less than 50 KB and the maximum accepted file size is 200 KB.

A few days after the NID entrance exam registration 2027 ends, the conducting body i.e., National Institute of Design (NID) will open the correction / edit window for a certain period of time. If students have made any mistake in their submitted application form then they can rectify the same through this portal. However, the following fields will not be permitted to be modified:

• Program Opted
• Candidate’s Name
• Date of Birth
• Mobile Number
• Email Address

If students change their category or gender through the edit window then they will be required to pay the additional applicable charges. However, if there is any extra fee remaining after changing the gender / category then a refund for it will not be given.

After making the requisite changes in the form, students should ensure that they pay the fee, if applicable and complete the entire formality to see that the changes made are reflected in the last step. In case the correction window is closed without finishing the entire process, then the changes done will not be accepted.

After the result of the prelims of NID entrance exam 2027 is declared, a one-time edit window will be opened for the students to upload the Category Certificate. Students who have accidently uploaded this document that is invalid / incomplete / incorrect will be permitted to provide the same in the prescribed format.
