VITEEE Eligibility Criteria 2026: Check Nationality, Age Limit, Aggregate Score & Qualifications

Vellore Institute of Technology has prescribed the VITEEE Eligibility Criteria 2026 in the Information Bulletin which is available on the exam’s official website i.e., “viteee.vit.ac.in”. Aspiring students who want to apply for the test are required to satisfy the VITEEE exam eligibility criteria. The minimum educational qualification for the exam is Class 12^th or its equivalent with PCM / PCB / PCMB and English.

To appear in the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination, aspirants need to make sure that they have qualified its eligibility criteria. To complete the VITEEE Registration 2026 process, it is mandatory to meet the exam eligibility requirements prescribed-below:

Academic Qualifications

To get admission in the UG Technology course i.e., B.Tech in any one of the VIT campuses through VITEEE 2026, students need to pass any one of the following qualification or appearing in the same:

• Class 12^th conducted by the CBSE and ICSE Board.
• Intermediate / PUC.
• High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
• General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
• Regular NIOS students are considered eligible for admission in the UG Technology course. They have to provide the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.
• Students who have qualified the 10 + 2 / equivalent examination from outside the Nation or from any board that is not prescribed–above are required to provide a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The certificate will specify that the examination that they have qualified is equivalent to the Class 12^th.

Qualifying Marks

The below-given are the minimum qualifying marks which students have to secure in the Class 12^th / Intermediate examination with PCM / PCB / PCMB:

• At least 60% marks are required for unreserved category students.
• Minimum 50% marks need to be scored by the students belonging to SC / ST category and hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the Northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.

Age Limit

Following is the age limit criteria prescribed by the exam authorities:

• Students whose date of birth (DOB) is 1st July 2004 or after this are eligible to apply for the exam.

* Candidates should know that the DOB mentioned in the High School / SSC / X Certificate are considered valid.

Nationality

The below-given is the nationality criteria for the VITEEE 2026 exam:

• Students are required to be Indian Nationals / Non-Resident Indian (NRIs) Nationals / OCI / PIO Holder.

* Foreign candidates who have completed their qualifying examination from outside India can directly apply through the International Forms.

* NRI candidates are not required to appear in the VITEEE exam as their admissions are based on merit.

Note: If the students have studied the qualifying examination with Physical Sciences, Physics, and Chemistry, they are required to provide a certificate of approval from the school to that effect and also the approval from AIU / Board of Studies.

The details about the subject eligibility criteria of VITEEE Exam is as follows:

• Candidates with PCM / PCMB in the qualifying examination who choose to appear in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (MPCEA) in the VITEEE exam will be eligible for admission in every specialisations of B.Tech course.
• PCMB / PCB candidates who opt for Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (BPCEA) in VITEEE 2025 exam and PCB students who appear in MPCEA in the entrance exam will be eligible for admission in only programmes mentioned-below under different VIT campuses:
  • VIT Vellore: B.Tech in Biotechnology, Computer Science and Engineering (Bioinformatics), and Electronics and Communication Engineering (Biomedical Engineering),  Health Sciences and Technology
  • VIT Bhopal: B.Tech in Bioengineering, and Computer Science &Engineering (Health Informatics / Education Technology)
  • VIT Chennai: B.Tech in Biotechnology
