Brainware University B.Tech Review By Tithi Mukherjee

I joined Brainware University because of the positive review I heard from my seniors who passed out from this college, and when I first went to visit the college, I fell in love with the college's campus of 8-acre land, it was full of greenery all around. They generally took my admission based on my JEE mains ranking but they also take admission on the basis of class 12th marks. The college management is overall very helpful and friendly where you can feel family-like treatment during any problem, although some of them are quite rude.

I joined B.Tech in Computer Science engineering, after giving JEE MAINS exams, and according to my JEE rank, I chose Brainware University Kolkata and further proceeded with the admission process after contacting the college management. The reason I joined this course is because of my passion for computers since childhood days, and no more reasons I need. Subjects are as per my expectations but some subjects are not of my choice but we are bound to learn them due to the curriculum made by UGC. I guess it will really be helpful to get a job in the IT sector or any other field related to tech by anyone who will take this course.

The number of faculties particularly for my course depends on the semester, overall we have more than 200 faculties depending on what niche you are in because it is a university and offers a numerable number of courses, Each and every teacher has a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and maximum 20 years experience, some of them have completed their PhDs and some of them are doing their PhDs, all of them are more or less from the reputed institution of India. Honestly speaking as we all know all fingers are not the same, just like that all teachers in the university are not the same. Some really teach so good that we don't need to ask it second time but some teachers teach like they are bound to teach us and doesn't care we understand or not, but other than that each and every teacher makes sure that each and every student has understood every topic or not by asking each students questions and making the class more interactive, even during the online class after covid started.

We got really a good training and placement cell in our college. They made us prepare nicely for the placements so that we can crack the interview very well. Companies like TCS, Adobe and many more companies visit our college every year. Minimum 7.5 CGPA is needed for sitting for placements. Total 90% of students got placed in 2020 and one of our seniors got a 1 lakh per month internship from Adobe too.

I have not availed the facility of the hostel but as far as I heard it is not good, My friends who are availing hostels got very bad foods and also the rooms are dirty and still they charge too much money for hostel fees, and also they are bound to pay 6 months hostel fees beforehand which is not a good thing.

Our campus is within a land of 8 acres, the whole campus is surrounded with greenery, many plants and a big pond is present inside our campus, also our college has swimming pool though it is not used, We have 4 big auditorium and 5-6 buildings, we have 2 libraries, a Xerox center, 2 big canteens and also an ATM center, 2 girls hostel, 2 boys hostel are present inside the college campus, classrooms are big, all the laboratories have every necessary piece of equipment, we have many workshops too like mechanical workshops that are in an underground place of our college. There is also a big playground to play all the outdoor games we want to play and indoor games like chess and carom are also available, there is also a medical room in our college where doctors also visit on weekly basis for student's checkup.

Honestly, I have done offline college just in my first semester after that college got closed due to covid19 and it's still closed, but during my 1st semester I have enjoyed a lot in college as the organised lot of workshops and competitions that groomed me, I have learnt many things during that time and improved myself. Our college also organises many fests in our college ground. The technical competition also takes place often, So in one sentence, my college is really a very good private college at an affordable fees.
