in 2024, Brainware University Received 1st Places Among Technical Private University by IIRF

My experience at Brainware University, Kolkata has been very pleasing till date. in 2024, it received 1st place among Technical Private University by IIRF. The campus is well contained and comfortable. I chose this University because it offered my desired course at a very reasonable fee as compared to others. The department is compact with limited seats so it doesn't feel overcrowded or chaotic. You actually get a place to grow, explore and shine. The faculty and the non-teaching staffs will make you feel very homely.

I chose the B.A.LL.B (5-year) course because I wanted to start my Law journey early and build a strong base. The eligibility criteria are 50% in 10th and 12th; 42% for OBC and 40% for ST/SC. My department offers many other courses so there’s a good academic variety. The admission process is very smooth and well-organized which is guided by the counsellors. Each six-month semester includes 2 mid-semester exams, two assignments, one presentation, and a final examination. The academic structure of the department is disciplined, well-structured and practical for day-to-day life. Our department has its own departmental library where various books are available and we have access to the top online legal databases like Manupatra, SCC online, AIR online, etc.

The fee of my chosen course when I enrolled was Rs. 5,17,000/- but our University offers scholarships like Brainware Vidyalankar Scholarship providing early bird offer for early admission. My course fee is Rs. 2,87,000/- as i scored 94.2% in my 12th. Also, you can avail other scholarships like SVMCM or Aikyashree, based on eligibility. The registration fees for my course was Rs. 5000/-, varies from course to course.

Most of the faculties that teach my course are well-experienced and highly knowledgeable. They explain concepts in a very clear and practical way that you can relate it to your daily life. They are patient and always open to clearing doubts whenever asked. The classes are sometimes taught by chalk-talk method or through presentations. They are open-minded and genuinely very supportive; it helps in building great teacher-student relationship. Every 30 students are allotted with a mentor who checks on the student's personal growth and mental health. Issues outside University and academics can also be discussed with the mentor.

Brainware University, Kolkata has a Placement Cell and it helps the student in securing Internship Opportunities during the course and jobs. In 2025, Brainware University recorded 98% Placement rate. The Cell provides training from the first day by incorporating classes like soft skills which helps the student to be interview ready. Also, various seminars, workshops and mock interviews are conducted. I am currently in 2nd year, so I haven't been placed yet. As I look at my seniors who have passed, they are well-placed.

Our University provides hostel accommodations for students. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. They provide 3 meals and snacks. There are 3 types of room that includes, 4 sharing, 3 sharing and single rooms. I am not a hosteller but from what I have heard from my hosteller friends is that the food quality is great and everything is hygienic. Every resident is provided with a cot, study table, study chair and one side of double door almirah with a locking system. Hostellers can go out after 7:30 AM on Sundays, holidays and once a day after class hours on weekdays. They also need to sign on register once they leave and when they return back. The visiting hours range from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM.

The infrastructure of Brainware University, Kolkata is simple and well organised. The campus is compact and homely. There are in total 8 buildings each assigned with a name. There are lift facilities in every building for everyone. There is a food court and a canteen as well. The classes are clean and each class has installed AC. They are well equipped with all the necessary classroom essentials like benches, table and chair for faculty, a white-board, projectors in every classroom and a dustbin. Classes are cleaned everyday by the cleaning-staff.

My overall campus life has been great till now. There's no overcrowding or chaos until its exam time. There are many clubs that students and faculties can join. It can help one to grow beautifully. I, myself am a part of Student Service Centre where I help the organisers in organizing seminars, workshops and others. There are various events happening daily where every student can participate. Every year there are events such as freshers, farewell or ‘Anandadhara’ (annual concert). Overall I would say it is simple, supportive and well balanced.
