ITM Vocational University BBA Review By Anil Sharma

ITMVU is a recently started University and has started with a purpose. There are many colleges in Vadodara for BBA but I am saying this not from my experience by from friend’s experiences as well who were studying in different colleges that ITMVU is far better than any other colleges in Vadodara. The college is located in Rawal Village which is some 12kms from the main city but the atmosphere and the facility that the college has is unreal. The college maybe known more for its technical courses but mind you BBA is no less. The course has different faculty members and different labs and is not deprived of any opportunities in the college. Yes, engineering students can have more fun but trust me ITM has taken care of BBA students like no others. The college study is not just about academics but the college has kept a perfect mix of projects, extra-curriculum activities and sports activities.

The college is best when it comes to studies. The newly built classrooms, fresh faculty members, and the teaching methods at the college made our lives adapt to the system that required oiling even if we were not hard working. The course is divided into 6 semesters and every semester we had 6 theory and 2 practical subjects. The balance was kept write between both and projects were a normal routine. The last-minute queuing for any sort of submission was strictly noted at ITMVU and the students submitting the projects on time were given an edge over the others, I am sure my fellow students would have understood what I am saying. Yes, the internal marks also depend on timely submissions. The 5th semester was a corporate internship and the college provided students the corporate as per their wishes. From advertising firm, government firm, to private banks we were given numerous choices and students were free to choose accordingly. The course is designed in a way that made us industry-ready in our last semester.

The faculty was not that experienced for sure as most of them were in mid-30s and had some 4-5 years of experience in teaching. However, along with teaching our professors did had some industrial experience and this way they had both the experiences that actually helped us as a student. The faculty members guided us well as how to move forward. The NGO projects and all are a regular part at ITMVU and not just studies but our faculty members also taught us our social responsibilities as well.

Well graduate students and placements don’t go hand in hand at any University but it wasn’t the same at ITMVU. The corporate internship gave us an opportunity to learn and some of them were even asked by the companies they worked to join their firm post completion of their graduation. At campus not many industries came but yes there were some. The job offers that we got were in the range of Rs. 3-4 lakhs per annum. As a fresher the numbers are great and are much more or rather the only college in Vadodara that has taken care of placements of BBA students.

There are 2 girls hostel building in the campus and boys hostel is outside the campus. It was on the Ajwa Nimeta Road and some 3kms from the college campus. The University had their own buses that took care of pick-up and drop. The boys and girls hostel has 2 students staying in one room. The hostel rooms have attached washrooms, a cupboard, bed, and a study table separate for each student. The rooms used to be cleaned daily and the premises as well. The hostel building is fully Wi-Fi and was a mess as well that served both main courses and morning breakfast. The facilities for boys and girls hostel are same but the girls hostel buildings are inside the campus while boys hostel is at some distance from the college campus.

The college has a main building where classes happen and one small dome shaped building that has all the labs. Some 15-20 labs to be precise and all of them well equipped. The classes are newly built and have digital blackboards. The main building also has a library that is decent and a small cafeteria as it didn’t served many food items but tea, coffee, and snacks. Then comes the ground that was used for various purposes. During events it became an open auditorium, otherwise, it’s a level playing sports field. Every year the annual sports event is organized played between various departments of engineering and BBA, and BCA students. The infrastructure is new and is well-maintained to be honest.

How to bring a change has been the theme at ITMVU. Every year we had some 7-8 events that were organized to give us some social awareness and we were asked to work ferociously on those projects. The LITMUS event that is a college annual fest was organized every year. The local news channels covered the entire fest and also showcased them. Life at the campus was awesome and I was fortunate to be a part of such a prerogative University.
