Shri Khushal Das University B.A Review By Aakriti Rajput

Among the first batch of students, I am currently studying in the university and have noticed many pros and cons of the university. Shri Kushal Das University is a private university that has recently established in 2018. The university focuses on all the important programs and courses with well-qualified staff and faculty. The main focus of the university is on the studies without any pressure. The university also encourages other curriculum activities like celebrations, fests, and frequent educational sessions. The best thing I have noticed in my past years is that there is not any partiality in the university. Here everyone is treated equally. This university has the main emphasis on the PhD programs. The admission process of the college is so simple by filling the college form. There is not any entrance test for admission.

I have joined the bachelor’s course in the arts stream. A candidate who has passed his 12th standard with a minimum of 60% of marks in any stream can join this course. The main reason for me for joining this course is its expandable opportunities. This course will give me the many ways to the uncountable job opportunities like civil services and much more. I have got all the course subjects as per my expectations and of my choice. Currently, I am studying three subjects under the arts stream namely geography, history, and English literature. Not only through theory but also we get detailed notes and other study materials for a particular subject.

There are different faculty for every course. As it is a university and offers several courses and programs it is hard to tell the overall number of faculties. In my course, there are three teachers for my three courses. Every teacher has a minimum experience of four to five years. There are a good interaction and comfort between the teachers and the students. Some of them are somewhat not up to my expectations but most of them are very good brilliant knowledge and qualifications. Talking of my subjects, I have got a better faculty with good teaching experience. The university faculty also provides extra hours for the competitive exams. For the students living in hostels, they provide a minimum of 3 hours of classes in the evening and for local students, they provide one hour daily for the competitions.

As it is a newly established university, a placement facility is not yet provided but it will start from the next sessions. But one thing that I appreciate about the university that many students has got selected in the defense.

The university provides the hostel facility too. I am living in the hostel for one year. There are many rooms in the hostel but due to its location, most of the students are from local areas so the students are not much in number. Hostels for girls and boys are separate and the number of boys in the hostel is more than that of girls. According to my, there are only 70 girls in the hostel and near about 200 boys. As per my expenses, the yearly fees of the hostel reach up to 1 lakh rupees. The food is decided as per the days and mostly healthy and tasty food is provided but sometimes it comes below average that is normal in the hostels, I guess. Security terms of the hostel are very strict as there is a fixed timing of every work. In the past, mobile phones were also not allowed in the hostel but now we have got permission for the phones. Girls hostel have only female staff that are cooperative and kind.

The university is built in a very large area with its school on the other side named as Soham International School, ground, cafeteria, library, laboratories, Auditorium. In few months, the school will also get merged with the university and there will be separate grounds for each sport. The auditorium of the campus is very huge and many meetings and programs are conducted here. Medical facilities are too provided on the campus. From my personal experience, the only disadvantage I found of the campus is the cafeteria. The sitting arrangements are not so good and comfortable.

I had enjoyed a good campus life in this institute. Along with studies, there are many other activities and celebrations like freshers party are organized here. Recently, there were fifteen days of activities and sessions on behalf of the women’s day and many highly qualified experts have visited us from different areas. There were a total of 26 members and all were PhD holders in their specialized fields. The university often organizes learning and interaction sessions from time to time. Here, every occasion is celebrated with great enthusiasm which provides positive energy to the students. Sometimes, the faculty organizes the celebrations to the demands of the students too.
