SVS Medical College MBBS Review By B R Roshan

I just completed my 1st year in this college and yes it was a really good experience. It really made me believe it could be amazing. Even though I had never dreamt of going to SVS, I always wanted to go to some govt. college but SVS never made me feel any less than a govt. college. Faculty, friends, environment, and infrastructure (even though it isn't the biggest private college campus) are good.

I'm just done with my 1st year of MBBS in this college which is a 51/2 years course. You get to enroll into this college from MBBS by participating in the national wide entrance exam NEET-UG and secure a good rank to get a ‘A’ category seat in this college or you have to get enough marks to get a ‘B’ category or a ‘C’ category (which is basically a NIR category). Being the resident of the state or having reservation can give you a upper hand in counselling and can help you in securing a ‘A’ category seat.

We got three subjects in our first year of MBBS - Biochemistry, Anatomy, and Physiology. To be honest I’m grateful for my faculty as I have few friends over some of the government and private colleges across the state. I have heard things they speak about their faculty and when I cross check it with my faculty they are not the same at all I mean some parts match but they are pretty good. Most of the faculty in other colleges are just concerned in completing their portion and isn't concerned with how students are performing in the exams, but in our college, the faculty and the management are pretty interested in how students are performing in weekly and monthly exams and are ready to take measures to have decent results out of it.

Yes, about infrastructure if you trying to join this college dreaming about a big campus, and acres and acres of land with all types of sports grounds and fields then you might have mistaken, SVS is nothing like that. Infrastructure is not as good as expected but the vibe of the environment is soothing. The road with trees on the side of road leading to the college does feel good to walk on every morning to go to your classes.

Talking about fests and all, in my first year and not only first year as far as I know every year there going to be a freshers party and a fest. Fresher’s party is given by the seniors to the newly joined freshers and it’s kind of closed party including 1st years, 2nd years, and faculty but freshers include speeches by the faculty and the management. We had our pre-finals during my fest so I couldn’t participate much in fest but by the pics of my friends it was damn good.
