Admission in IMI Greater Noida through IMUCET

IMI Greater Noida is a good institute. It is not too strict but also not too lenient. According to me, it is perfect to pursue your degree. I chose this institute as it is the one of only 2 Maritime institutes of the country in Northern India.

The course designed by IMU is quite comprehensive to prepare you for your cadetship and 2nd Mate exams. You have to clear IMUCET after 12th grade with Science. Based on this exam, you can get a sponsorship from an RPSL and then only you can get admission anywhere for this course. I think its safe to say, your future is sure in this line.

The faculty was very competent, as they were retired Sailing Masters who had good knowledge of this field. They would always be happy to clear your doubts if you catch them at a good time. Other teachers for minor subjects are just enough, and your academics will not be a problem in this course.

The placement cell has to carry out its work properly as without placement, there will not be any admissions. GOI declared that only people with sponsorships from shipping companies, meaning a sure job after their studies, can apply for the course, which means usually 100% placement.

The new MSC building is well developed, with AC rooms and big independent spacious rooms. On the contrary, the old hostel building is not so well built and has common bathrooms for 3 of 4 floors, which are usually maintained only once a day. Residential facilities are compulsory even if you live near the institute, as you have to train to be a merchant Navy officer, who means early morning PTs, and late night counts, while staying away from family and outside contacts for a long time. Food is good for North Indians, but maybe not so good for South Indians. All other facilities that you need are available in hostel.

The institute has huge campus area. There are academics blocks with well-equipped classrooms. Other facilities of the campus include playground, hostels, and many other. There are few markets nearby the campus, where you can get all your basic requirements.

You will always remember your campus life as a very happy time, as a sense of camaraderie is prevalent amidst harsh PTs and punishments are grueling daily schedule. You will never feel crowded, as the campus is big.
