Integral University M.Tech Review By Anjani Yadav

As long as you don’t compare this college with colleges of metro cities the college is great. After spending 4 years away from my home and shedding 9-10 kgs was enough for my parents to call me back home. I was not sure about colleges in Lucknow and then one day saw an advertisement of Integral University and did all my research. The University is good and MNC’s have started coming to Lucknow and Integral should be thanked for that. Placements were my criteria and Integral Uni has its bases covered in the placement department. There are rules and disciplines in place but given it is in Lucknow most of them are not followed. Our department was good and most importantly our seniors. If you are a part of this University, never shy away from talking to them. There is no ragging and seniors behave nicely with the juniors like what we did after entering the 2nd year of M.Tech. All the department has their fests and so do the University fest that happens at the end of every year. For people of UP, Integral has much more to offer than what in general we know.

Rules and all were strict but for just a few weeks. 8 hours classes with 1 break is how the college life was. Academics are given more importance if you are doing M.Tech because B.Tech students can be seen chilling at the campus. I would like to add a point here that the way studies are done in the North is much different from what it is in the South. No excess baggage of assignments and internals issue. The faculty were pretty cool while giving the internal marks. Studies were tough and to make it easier the question banks and extra practical classes were held. Integral University Lucknow doesn’t only believe in theoretical courses and thereby the research department and computer labs were mostly occupied by M. Tech students.

All the faculty were Ph.D holders. They don’t believe in helping students out as they will cover the syllabus twice and whatever doubts you have will be done in the class itself. We never had the opportunity to go and ask them as outside the class you can catch them once in a blue moon. They were not biased and treated all the students the same. I tried my best to put some flaws but don’t think it would be fair as they did their job right.

I will say it again that ads or the college website always mislead me as before I joined this college I checked some 100 colleges and all of them have the same recruiters list. Infosys hires 30-40k students every year and that is the highest in India. If you compare them with the colleges, they can get these many students from just 2-3 state’s colleges. Hence, it will take time for Integral to even qualify for them to come to Integral. The companies that recruited half of us were Singsys, Tech Mahindra, Softgen Technologies, and Persistent. Accenture for the first time visited our campus in 2017 and looking at the track record of some of us they hired us. The average placement was Rs. 5-7 lakhs but Accenture offered us quite more than that. The placement rate was 50% or so.

There were A to F block and F block named Bhabha Hostel was reserved for M. Tech students. Some palace-like buildings that were constructed in 2010 have over 1500 students staying in the hostel. In addition to the boy's hostel, there are 3-4 blocks of the girl’s hostel as well. Just outside the boy's hostel there was a lush green garden and students can be seen jogging around in the morning. The ones who are not staying at the hostel were not allowed to enter the hostel and therefore I have no idea how big the rooms were and what all facilities were in place. By the look of it, I can say that the hostel buildings were awesome.

Integral University Campus is spread over 120-acres is greener than any other township of Lucknow. All the buildings are new and you will see all white once you are inside the campus. All the buildings have solar panels installed and the college is one of its kind as they generate their electricity consumption on their own. There are some 10-12 academic blocks. Block C is where the central library of the University is built and a 4 storied library in an Indian University is not a myth anymore. There are 3 small canteens and 1 central canteen adjacent to Block D that can have 500-600 students at a time. Among other facilities, there is a sprawling cricket ground and a gaming center. Greenery at the campus is mind-blowing and some of the gardens also have fountains in them. There is also a separate guest house building and the hosteller's parents while visiting the campus can stay there. There is also a hospital inside the campus and any sustainable injuries can be healed there. The infrastructure of the University is a revelation if not more.

The two years passed by in no time. The college is happening maybe not as in other cities but per Lucknow standard it was amazing. The Muslim population at the campus is high but religion never came in-between the students. Studying never let us had a full view of the campus and some of the blocks remained unexplored by me even after visiting the University daily.
