GLS University B.Sc Review By Langaliya Niomi

Basically, I never even knew I would ever end up in a field like information technology and ending up here was beyond imagination. I was completely new to the concept of Coding and such and actually wanted to get in Bachelors of Technology but later on I ended up in the Faculty of Computer Applications and Computer Technology. Everything around here was good actually and the faculty is so patient, they teach us even 50 times on asking, and they really care about our progress in the corporate world. The labs are pretty well maintained, the office staff if helpful and amiable to us whenever we reach out to them with our issues. We get plenty of opportunities to showcase our talents in every field may it be dance, acting, drama, meme, or even related to the studying profile. The events here are spectacular. Almost everything around here is good and I do hope you all enroll here and actually feel what I have just described in words.

The admission here requires the student to be having 10+2 schooling in either Science stream or Commerce. The eligibility criteria for the commerce students are usually more than 60% in 12th standard and for Science students it is generally 55%. Mentally you have to be prepared for a lot of ups and down, not because of the college but for the course. 1 minute you'll be sitting solving entire C language, the next you know you messed up the entire code because of a single semicolon. I honestly had no idea why did I even enroll in this course but when I started the course, I started understanding the actual concepts and it all came so naturally to me. So yes it may be a tough course but with the right amount of motivation and willpower you can excel here. Hope this helps.

I am very grateful to have all of our faculty members teaching us. They are from vast backgrounds but mainly Gujaratis. They help us overcome the language barrier by communicating in the language which is the most familiar to us. Their ways of teaching do differ but all of them equally reliable. They help us in every way possible for our better grades and they actually are genuinely concerned for us. They usually teach our subjects practically which helps us prepare for the outer world and the coding we will perform there. The lab teachers are also very helpful. They help us during practical whenever we're stuck and even the system administrators are pretty helpful in cases of computer failures or such.

Our campus is very well defined actually. Our campus is huge. We have enough parking spaces for all the two wheelers of all the students. But we have to go through the security checking with our ID cards are before entering the campus. The labs are well furnished and the operating systems we work on are Ubuntu and Mac. We have 5 or more labs in our undergraduate building itself. The classrooms are well-ventilated with fans, air conditioners and windows. Classrooms often feature rows of benches arranged in a stepped formation, with each row positioned higher than the one in front of it, so that everyone on every level of benches has a clear view of the board or the projector screen whichever it might be. We even have a library in our building which has all the course related books for reference. Honestly it's such a good benefit, because I never had to buy any book for reference as we could refer all of them in the library itself. There is a huge circle made especially for seating of students on the ground floor also equipped with benches outside of classrooms. Campus also includes a canteen where we can get every type of food or we can just sit there and do our work without disturbance. There are plenty of quick-service restaurants quite near our campus fulfilling our cravings. Also situated near law garden, we don't have to go too far searching for shopping or good food. The food is definitely the main benefit for me in this campus.

The life here is pretty good. The most beautiful years of this lie here makes memories for years. The events taking place here are spectacular. We have our enjoyment here itself in the campus with our batch mates. I have not regretted enrolling here. There are plenty of clubs here like code crafters club, dance club, drama club, etc. All of them provide equal opportunities for us in those fields and actually help us in improving our talents. Shadez - an event here is quite famous and really fun. There are days celebrated here and even we get to see all the talented performances of our fellow mates. Cyber Shadez was recently organised in our campus and students from many campuses arrive here to participate. All the participants were provided with a certificate and those who won got a trophy and a cash prize (Even I won one - it was my first ever prize). Here you'll always be engaged in activities, fests, shades or studies, obviously there's no place for boredom here. I strongly recommend living the best years of your life in this campus.
