B.Sc. IT at GLS University Ahmedabad

My overall experience in GLS University is decent because the education is good here. While, the campus life is also pretty good because in this University we celebrate all festivals and also focus on Study. The main reason to select this University was the specialized courses curriculum where the students can learn various computer languages and also can practice them in University lab at the same time. This was my overall motive to enroll here.

I had selected B.Sc. IT course where students can learn major subjects like Problem Solving through programming, Mathematics of computer science, Technical and professional communication and many more. Other than this for better understanding of this computer languages University does have hackathon activities where different real world problems are given to students to solve it using programs where they get deep learning and also certificate from government which is useful in future for students to get placement after graduation. If the government likes their program or idea to solve the problem, they give some cash prizes that also motivates the students.

For B.Sc IT course the fee at GLS University is Rs. 60,000 per Semester and the year fees is Rs. 1,23,000 + Rs 3,000 exam fees. At the time for enrolment they charge Rs. 15,000 as admission fee.

In GLS University the faculties of B.Sc. IT department are very helpful and knowledgeable. But on the other hand, the teacher student ratio is not good because in one class there are around 120 students and one faculty at a time where sometimes it is very difficult to manage all the students doubt. While, I had not faced any delays in doubt solving yet from any teacher.

The placement opportunity at GLS University is given to students but it is depends on their performance and score because the student who has scored more than 8 CGPA, they will get highly salaries placement while others get less salary job.

There is no on-campus student housing facility. But there are versions private PG within 500 meters where there are different PG for only boys or only girls. They all have different price ranges according to facilities provided.

The infrastructure facilities are decent in GLS University. While there are facilities like classroom with air conditioners and projector, food canteens, libraries and computer lab with different operating systems like mac, Ubuntu and Linux. On the flip side, there is no particular sport's area for students but there is an open space garden area. There is also an auditorium for seminars with the capacity of 100 students. Other than this, there is a big theatre like hall with the massive capacity of more than 500 people.

The campus life in GLS University is quite good as there is enough space to celebrate all the festivals in which we celebrate festivals like Navratri, dance, shades and many more. In Ahmadabad this University is famous for its cultural fest which is divided in to six days where we celebrate traditional day, dance day, yoga day, and Bollywood day, where students dress them as a hero or heroine.
