MES Garware College of Commerce has a legacy of academics. It provides education up to the Ph.D. level. It is located at the center of the city, and it is easily accessible from any place in Pune City. The college has received an “A” grade from NAAC. It is a recognized UGC College. Garware College of Commerce admission process of the college is straightforward, and it is always based on Merit score. The college management is very much helpful and supports students on all required fronts. MESGCC organizes many co-curricular activities for students and focuses on the overall development of students. I took the admission for graduation, and in my three years of college life, I never regret being a student of this college. Garware college has strict discipline and rules, and regulations. Every student enjoys academics as well as other activities and is given opportunities to display skills and talent. I observed it was essential for the overall growth of every student. I joined Garware College of Commerce in 2014. The Cut off marks for Garware College Admission were 85 percent. I had secured 89 percentiles in my 12th. There was no entrance exam. I went to the college, collected the form, filled it, and submitted it with attested copies of required documents. After three weeks, a list of shortlisted students was displayed. I took admission to Bachelor of Commerce.

I prefer this college because for two main reasons; the first is the accessibility. It is in the center of the city at Deccan Gymkhana. We can travel by auto, Bus or drive our vehicle to reach—secondly, the academics. In Pune city, this is one of the best colleges for academics. The faculties here are focused and conduct lectures regularly. As I wanted to make my career in banking, the college allowed me to select Banking as a specialization. All the relevant course options are well available and qualified faculties support and guide students to choose their interests. The specialization selected here will help you get the job, and the learning will stay and keep helping during your service period. I joined ICICI Bank and am thankful to the college that I learned many things during my college, which are now helping me in my daily job.

The faculty members are well qualified. Every Faculty has a minimum Post Graduate and either a Ph.D. holder or pursuing a Doctorate. They are enough in numbers to attend to each student and their doubts. Each subject was taught by different faculty. They were having either teaching experience or industrial experience of a minimum of 7 years. I must be thankful to each faculty here who helped me during the course. Every Faculty member is very much accessible. Students can reach up to them for any doubts. The lectures are conducted regularly and on time. The project guide will show you and assist you in completing your project with many new learning. The teaching method is also enjoyable. For me, Economics was a boring subject. Still, Acharya Madam used to take an early morning class and make the subject more interesting with diagrams and figures on the blackboard.

Here I need to pause a bit. College does have a placement cell. The respective faculty and students work hard to get the companies for campus recruitments. The placement cell arranges mock interviews, counseling services, and training for students. As per my experience, the efforts in the right direction did not give enough results, and very few companies responded. Not many recruitments are happening at the graduate level is Nil. Those attempting for a Master’s and Ph.D. get some opportunities. At my batch of Bachelor, only seven companies responded and conducted interviews. In these seven companies, a total of 40 % of students got recruited. The highest package received was Rs. 8.5 lakhs Per annum. The average package offered was 6.95 Lakhs. Here I want to mention that the college is not placement-oriented, but it is more academic-oriented.

Garware College has an excellent Hostel Facility. There are boys and Girls separate Hostels within a kilometer distance of the college building. It has a total accommodation facility of 250+ students. One hundred twelve for Girls and 135 for Boys. It is challenging to get the room in these hostel rooms. So, one should not be dependent on it while taking admission. The fees vary every year and as per room selection. The food is average breakfast, lunch, and dinner is served at the common dining hall. The hostel has a separate library with more than 200 books. Recreation facility has television, And indoor games like carom, table tennis, etc. While taking the admission, a proper medical examination is carried out to avoid inconvenience to other roommates. For both, tight hostel security is implanted, especially for a girl’s hostel. The Girls hostel is equipped with more than 11 CCTV cameras to ensure and monitor the safety of students.

The college campus is spread in the approx. 10,000 sq meter. Which include three main buildings, a sports ground, and a pavilion. The Commerce Department has four storied buildings with specious 12 classrooms on each floor. There is a library, study Laboratory, conference hall, and an auditorium on the first floor. It has a medium-size playground, especially for NCC and NSS training. Canteen is placed common for Science, Arts, and commerce students in a separate building. The classes are arranged in view of a smooth transition of all students and to avoid any chaos. The spacious classroom and the library allow you to spend as much time without any hustle. All the medical emergency medical services are well placed. The college has a separate Girl's room and a Boys' room where students can rest and take medical treatment like first aid in any Medical Emergency.

I spend three years in this college and can surely tell you that those three years were the best in my life. College life was full of energy, enthusiasm. College nicely channelized our energy and enthusiasm in productive activities. In Garware College, you can get different options like NCC, NSS, along with Research and Innovation Laboratory, Soft skill development center and Red Cross community, start-up cell, to name a few. Students can engage themselves in any of the activities and boost their talent with new learning. It gives the student an opportunity for overall growth. The interactive sessions between students with their Alumni, seniors, and teachers lead to a friendlier environment on campus. Many celebrations are done together by all students from different courses like gatherings, cultural activities and sports competitions. I must mention that MES Garware College is the best place to learn with Fun.
