Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS Review By Siddaroodh Angur

Gadag is the place near to my hometown so in my home everyone decided to admit me to this college. It has nice infrastructure, well developed social environment, and hospital is really cool and filled with the patients. It has got one of the best campus in North Karnataka. Hostel is available for both boys and girls.

As MBBS is a stressful journey but here in this college it's a bit joyful also. We have very helpful senior who help in all over academy and in overall development of knowledge in medicine. Minimum NEET ranking should be there to enter this college. The eligibility for this course is to crack NEET exam and attend the KEA counselling and get your seating this college. As it was my childhood dream to be a doctor I choose this profession.

MBBS course is divided into 5 professional year here. In the first year we have mainly three subjects anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. In second year we have pharmacology, microbiology, and pathology. In 3rd year we will get all our clinical subjects and in the fourth year the same continues. There are totally 19 subjects in overall MBBS course. As I am studying in 1st year MBBS we have one of the best faculties of anatomy and physiology and biochemistry is also okay. Faculty helps us in overall academic and co-academic subjects. They teach us how to manage stress, and they are very helpful and friendly with us. GIMS has got one of the best faculties so far.

After 4.5 years of studying the MBBS we get 1 year internship duty in the GIMS Hospital Gadag. The salary per month is around 35k. Duty is almost 8 hours per day. Good knowledge of learning more diseases.

We have one of the best hostels, as compared to other colleges. All the it's a government hostels it provides with the best hostels. We also have a warden sir, who is very kind and friendly with us who take care of us every day. When I first enter this college the hostel was a bit Messy and dirty but now it's very clean and tidy. We have filter in all hostel and there is also hostel for boys and girls both separately. Girls also have a very good hostel facility. The food available here is very tasty and sometimes it's ok but almost all the time we get good food.

Infrastructure is one of the main criteria to decide whether the colleges good. James has almost God to academic blocks and free hospital blocks. There is a new hospital and old hospital with Ayurvedic hospital separately. There is also separate storage for medicine and surgical instruments. In account of academic blocks there are two academic blocks and seminar hall. In academic blocks there are laboratories in block. In seminar hall we have totally 4 rooms it is also called as AC seminar hall as it is completely air conditioned. We also have a stadium called as Mahatma Gandhi Stadium of Gadag. It's a very nice environment to play read and do all other activities which are necessary for an MBBS student to do. GIMS has got one of the best infrastructure among the medical colleges in North Karnataka.

Talking about the overall campus life, we have to live here for 5.5 years. It's a bit long journey in which we come to learn many things related to disease or the treatment of disease. In this busy schedule we also have got enormous functions conducted. The first function that we have is the Freshers Day. Every national festival is celebrated over here and also the regional festival and religion festivals are celebrated in Gadag Medical College. We have a Kannada club a football club and an art club and a photography club.
