Unitedworld School of Business provided maximum exposure
by Jignesh Parmar
KU has 6 colleges and out of which 5 are at the main University campus. I was a part of the Unitedworld School of Business that offers the PGDM program. KU is one of the best in terms of infrastructure and the kind of facilities that it provides. The University is always lively as the students hardly have time for themselves. One thing that surprised me was that at any other college or University the management is rushing after the syllabus to get completed. It was exactly the opposite at KU where teachers and the management wanted us to be a part of extra-curricular activities, attend workshops, go on industrial visits, and also lead the events by organizing them. I went to the University before taking admission and spoke to many students to get to know about the UWSB and after getting positive feedback from most of them, I decided to join this beautiful University which I feel is quite underrated.
The most chilled-out way of approaching studies was something new that I witnessed at UWSB Karnavati University. The syllabus was nice as the topics and the content was something that is helping me even today. I did specialization in finance and all the clauses and some 30 case studies are what I solved during 2 years. We were given a lot of opportunities in terms of the exposure provided as many companies kept visiting the campus throughout the year. We were also sent for training with banks and financial institutions for 2 months and a logbook of the same has to be submitted as that added in our practical markings.
Faculty from all corners of the country and they are some of the best-suited persons for teaching. The kind of knowledge they provided and the industrial experience that they shared helped us know the exact roles we will be playing. The learning they provided was more than commendable. All the faculty members were masters of their subjects and one can get attached to them immediately. They maintained a peaceful environment even while our life was full of hustle and bustle.
We were trained as per our respective streams and being finance students we were made aware of banking operations both theoretically and with practical applications. I was a trainee with Kotak Mahindra Bank for 2 months and that experience helped during the final placement. There were 7-8 banks at the campus during the placement session that happened at the beginning of the final semester. The placement ratio was 70% and the average package offered was 6-7lakhs. Some individuals even getting a package of 10 lakhs+. The placement scenario at Unitedworld School of Business Karnavati University for all the departments was in accordance with industry standards.
There are 5 boys' hostels within a touching distance from the campus. The hostel buildings and they are divided into 2, 3, 4 sharing buildings. The girl's hostel is at the campus and 2 newly constructed girls' hostel buildings were at the same boy's hostel campus. The hostel rooms are neat and airy. The hostel has a common room that has a LED and 50 chairs for students to sit and relax. There is also a study room in each hostel buildings. There are also sporting facilities at the hostel campus and every year the hostel sports day is celebrated which is not a part of the college event. The dining area was common for all students and it can accommodate 500 students at a time. The food served was pure vegetarian and we used to have a complete meal that has 2 vegetables, rice, dal, and rotis. On every Thursday we were served fast food.
A 40-acre lush green campus was so soothing that I took almost 1000 pics while at the University. There were 2 libraries at the University and both of them can be accessed by students. Both the libraries had a reading room and one of the libraries has a computer lab as well. The cricket stadium with floodlights and stands gave us the feel of playing at an international arena. The cafeteria was bigger than ever and it served all the delicacies like Mexican, Italian, and South Indian food. There was also a dance floor at the University and the freshers and DJ Night during the fest were organized there. There are 2 open amphitheaters and a world-class auditorium and gym.
The festive atmosphere at the University never made me feel stressed or give the feeling of away from home. I met new individuals daily and since there are 5 streams colleges at the same campus interacting with them was an absolute pleasure. The college fest made the atmosphere so joyous that all the parents who came to see their kids performing left with numb eyes. The University offered more than a small villager like me could have asked for. It was a life-changing experience for me and please excuse me if I haven’t thrown insight on various things. I mentioned everything that I could recollect and will once again say that KU University should advertise a little more because many people outside Ahmedabad don’t even know about the KU University.

Myself Manoj Singh, an ex student of UWSB, I am delighted with the college, the management and of course our faculties. Unitedworld is the reason what I am today, they not only delivered classes, but also helped us beyond lectures. The college infrastructure was so amazing that we never felt like bunking lectures.
Overall, after my graduation many of my batch-mates talked about doing MBA from Pune, Bangalore or Mumbai. Many went also, But I must say, my decision to stick with Ahmedabad and ch... Read Full Review
