'Specialized Knowledge Promotes Creativity.' This is the motto of Tezpur University; located at the heart of the historical city of Tezpur in Assam. The university is one of the top notch universities in the country. The university got an A in NAAC accreditation, visitor's best university award by President of India, a QS Bricks ranking of 148, got placed in 601-800 in Times Higher Education University ranking and many more. Tezpur Central University attracts students from all over the India in various courses throughout the year and produces some of the most brilliant minds that serve the country. Not only just India, a lot of students from all over the world like Thailand, Middle eastern Countries, European Union students are part of this university. It was my privilege to be a part of this institution for my Masters program and I cherish each and every moment of mine in this University.

The academic program of the University is very rigorous and robust. It offers a diverse range of courses under four major Schools. I joined for my Masters in Math under School of Sciences. One has to pass an all India entrance test conducted by the University to secure an admission. The selection process is quite competitive and only a few students per course make it. The classes were fun and very interactive and apart from the main courses one can always choose some foreign languages which help the student to get various exposures in the long run. The university follows continuous evaluation system and one has to appear for 6 exams per course in every semester.

The faculties in the university are world class and some of them are leading scientist in the country. They have good connection with several world class universities. They have very deep knowledge about their topics and very helpful in nature. They try to build the students, not only in academics but as an overall human resource. They bring out the best from you and you can approach them for any guidance even when you are not a part of the university anymore. That is why this is the best university in North East India at present.

Tezpur University placement cell has done quite a good job in recent years. The university has very good placement in professional courses like Engineering, Management and Commerce. Organizations like Power Grid, Oil India, Amazon etc. visit the university every year and offers very attractive packages. There are very good chance of foreign internship and placements in MBA program. In Sciences and Humanities, a huge number of students get referred to various top notch foreign universities to continue their doctoral program. Two of my batch mate got admitted into Queens University Belfast for their PhD program.

Tezpur University is a fully residential university. There are separate hostels for both boys and girls. It has 5 hostels for boys and 7 hostels for girls. Two of these hostels are allotted to Research Scholars and PhD students. There is a separate hostel for married students also with normal household facility. Tezpur University hostels have every modern facility like Wi-Fi, laundry, library, gymnasium, sports facility and as the university is centrally funded the hostel fees is very nominal. The mess is very good and offers diverse variety of food for various students all over India. Each hostel has a warden, an office helper and a student committee to run everything smoothly and there is around the clock security guard at front desk. Also The Patkai Men's Hostel is the second largest university hostel in whole Asia.

Tezpur University Campus infrastructure is where it shines the best. The university is located amidst the beauty of nature and has a clean and fresh environment. Departments are equipped with smart classroom and advanced world class laboratories. The Central library has vast collections of books, journals, magazines and operates from morning to midnight. The campus has a shopping complex for students daily needs, a few cafes and fine restaurants. There is a community hall, an auditorium and a conference hall for seminars and meetings. Other than this the university also has a guest house, a health center and a Kendriya Vidyalaya for kids. The university is equipped with modern facility for every games and sports including a cricket ground, a football ground, Tennis court, an indoor stadium and many others.

Tezpur University is a great place for well round development. Apart from academic activity it helps students to develop their other hobbies as well. One can pursue other dreams like sports, cultural activities and many more. Every year university sends talented students to all India level competition. Personally I was captain of University badminton team and participated in National University Games twice. Apart from this every year university organize one technical fest called Techxetra and one science fest called Inscignis. The overall campus life in the university is great and you will enjoy each and every moment of it.
