If you don’t want to play with your career then don’t join MDU. The staff is poor and for management I have no words. Even the exam papers are not checked wisely one can only expect 40-50% accuracy. What’s the point in joining such a university? For BCA only 40% of students can complete the degree on time and the rest take at least a year extra. Not even half the students complete their degrees on time. Appearing for exams, again and again, is like the common trend at MDU. Finally, when they are unable to provide us placement they have too good excuses. As a student, we will only thrive for mercy at the University and beg your pardon for being so harsh. The university has top-level meetings every month just on how to make some extra profits. If you don’t believe me the mercy fees for allowing to re-appear for the exams is 15k. Which university on earth does that? MDU does and they are proud of it. Also, there are instructions in the form that if by chance you don’t fill the form correctly the money won’t be refunded. A student I know by mistake wrote his date of birth wrong and he lost his money.

For BCA there are not many practicals. The course books which are the size of the dumbbells are what we have to finish in a semester. The professors will only teach us some important topics and say rest all is easy you can cover that yourself. Following question papers of previous years is of no use because the professors are so frustrated that they will always set some new questions to make sure lesser students pass. I don’t know if it’s a general phenomenon but this is what I saw during my time at university. The education system is like playing tricks with students and they don’t bother about the poor result that the university produces.

Faculty are the ones responsible because they have nothing to do with the syllabus completed or not. The practical’s that we should have done during the first leg of the semester is done during the final leg. The penultimate days are the hardest working days for them because before that they don’t realize how much portion is left. Some of them keep changing while some of them are glued to the university. They will give marks randomly as the practical exams were a joke for them. Even theory followed the same pursuit and if such faculty will last long, I bet the university’s strength will only come down. It is noticeable even now and the graph will only go down.

If you look at the placement cell of the university and the kind of promises that they offer, you will have hope till the last day of the university. All those promises were never meant to be full filled as we will be just be given dates after dates and no companies will ever interview BCA students. It’s such a shame for a university that is so highly rated and offers nothing in terms of placements. Poor would be an understatement for the placement review.

There are 11 boys and 9 girls hostel in the building. Haryana doesn’t have many universities and students from unprivileged towns and cities of the state come for studies here. Some student's families even sold their land to make sure their children get a good education. All in vain because all they would have got is a high-class hostel with some great food. On infrastructure, the university has spent quite heavily and the university hostels are a prime example of that. However, an irony is that one of the boy's hostels is called the International hostel which is meant for international students. To date, I can bet that they would have never had a single foreign national. The hostels are great as all of them are quite well maintained.

The university is as good as a small town of the state. All the academic blocks are well furnished and each block has its own library. There’s one central library called Vivekananda library which has study rooms. Hostel students can access the central library 24*7. The computer labs are also equipped with a number of the latest PCs. The college has built a food mall called UFO. You will have all the vegetarian dishes on the planet there. Non-veg outlets are also there but very few. The university has a provision, medical, and a Xerox center. There are also many hang-out areas inside the campus as the girls staying in the hostel are not allowed to leave the campus after 7 pm. The auditorium called Tagore auditorium is one of the biggest as the university claim it’s the biggest of its kind in Asia. To be fair with the university, the auditorium is by far the largest I have seen. Sporting facilities are also top-notch. There’s a garden for practicing yoga and then there are sports ground for cricket, hockey, and football. For events, there’s another auditorium called Radha Krishna auditorium. The annual function or other gatherings of the college happens at the RK auditorium.

You will meet students from every city, town, and village of Haryana at the campus. So it’s all Haryanvi culture at the campus. The students look begging because most of them are the victim of the poor education system of the university. The university is not worth it and this is all I would advise to all.
