My Thoughts on Government Law College

Overall Rating
The college provides a decent campus life; the students get to be a part of India's heritage since this college is 150 years old and has produced a lot of successful alumni. The college has a compulsory 14 day internship which all students must do from the first semester which helps them be ahead and know what the course has to offer and helps them learn skills which will help them in their journey as lawyers.
 

Academics Rating
The Kerala Law entrance exams needs to be written to get into this college, 50% seats are for state merit and the rest 50% are reserved for children to avail reservation benefits. The courses offered are B.Com LLB 5 year and LLB 3 year, for the 5 year course, the first few semesters have more business subjects than law subjects and as we move ahead, the law subjects increase altogether.
 

Faculty Rating
We have around 10-15 permanent faculty members and all the teachers are UGC NET qualified. Most of them have Ph.Ds in their respective subjects and are always eager to help you out if you stumble upon any problems while studying and will help you achieve success. They can easily be approached and are always available.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college is equipped with fast Wi-Fi and most of the classes have projectors. We have a canteen, a football field where many students play after the college hours, a volleyball field, and a badminton court. Also, a sports room with a table for table tennis. We have 3 blocks and our library is filled with books for references and has a very good collection of books.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is overall very good and vibrant. Every 2-3 months many events take place and there are many student run clubs, a part of the prominent ones is the research club where students can research and publish papers with the help of the teachers and their other peers. Even 1st year students are a part of this club and have published papers.

    The overall college experience is good. Major factor that made me choose Government Law College, Kochi is the legacy of the college and it is near to the High Court of Kerala and the district court. There is this freedom that is not available in any other college.
