Amity University BBA Review By Mehul Panchal

Amity Mumbai may not be perfect, but everyone has their points for like or disliking the college. The points that I saw, I was happy with them, and so I liked the college. Some of my friends died to step out of college, while some loved it. I was the latter one who loved it. The best thing about Amity Panvel was that it has crowd from all corners of the country. People with diverse cultures, lifestyles, and mindsets and from different economic backgrounds. We had students of all the communities except Jews. I behaved well with all, and I made a huge list of friends at the campus. The issue was the location because suburb nearby hardly had essential items and even to watch a movie, we had to travel a lot. I actually landed in a crisis situation if I forgot to buy items during the weekends because it was impossible to travel for every small thing on college days. The college provides a bus facility with very limited excess, and timings also are fixed. If I chuck this thing, then there was no issue with the college.

The regular class timings were not tiring at all, and BBA doesn't have that deal of studies. 6-7 hours classes and practicals just twice a week. The structure of the course was also well balanced as there were mostly relevant subjects. Every semester one subject was added by the college, which had nothing to do with the BBA, but since Amity being an autonomous college, they had to show that they provide learning beyond the syllabus. If this was the idea, I think they should drop it because my overall score went down because of such subjects. Having moral science as a subject in BBA is of no use whatsoever.

The faculty were incredibly great. They were just a moment away from any help that we wanted. They made the classes interesting by introducing many games during the classes. It was a part of learning only but made the entire episode so interesting. The faculty was more interested in what we do beyond classes as they always encouraged us to well beyond academics as well. The University was developed lately, and we being from the second batch, were always given extra attention.

We were lucky in the sense that many companies joined hands with the University before it started. Major corporate houses like SBI Card, TATA AIG, WNS, and Amazon had some gaps to fill. For that, BBA students of the University were a perfect match. Thus, placements happened on a large scale, and from both the sections of BBA, almost half the students were placed from campus. The average placement was in the range of 4-5 lakhs per annum. BBA freshers getting such a pay scale is inevitable in the current scenario, but thanks to Amity for providing the student's such decent packages.

Amity Mumbai has many outsiders in all their departments. There are three boys and three girls hostel within the campus. Amity Mumbai hostel rooms are like flats with a balcony attached to every single room. The rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art furniture and attached bathrooms. All the rooms are available on double occupancy. The hostel building was immense, and there were various facilities in all the hostel buildings. A common TV room along with recreational facilities was always full of students. Hostel students had access to all the college facilities 24*7. The volleyball court was next to the hostel, and floodlights were installed. Hostel students were seen playing volleyball till 1 am. The food provided at the hostel had different cuisines on all seven days. Sunday evening, the mess remained closed, and the curfew time was also till 11 pm on Sundays.

There are 16 administrative blocks on Amity Mumbai campus. One main building with all the students' data and the library was also there in the main building. A world-class gym for boys and girls has also been set up. Amity knows how to make the best use of IT facilities, and therefore the University has set up an Open learning area. The computer labs were world-class, and the entire Amity business school, our administrative building, was top-class. To meet the students' daily needs, a laundry store, a departmental store, and an Axis bank ATM branch have been installed at the campus. The Amity campus has built a sports complex that has both indoor and outdoor sporting facilities. The cricket ground had the main pitch and a practice pitch well maintained by curators. The college cafeteria used to open at 8 am, and students started queuing in as soon as it opened. In all, there were 6 canteens, and that made choices galore for us. There were not many options near the college, and college canteens were the only option we had.

As they say, sometimes words are actually hard to find. I can't explain my life at Amity because students from various cultures made their presence felt. All the university colleges used to perform together at the events, and cultural dance from various states was the main highlight of the annual event named Aminova.
