JSSATEN infrastructure and hostel is good rest all need improvement
by Deepende Soam
During my final year, I realized that JSS Noida holds no future, and I should prepare for the GATE. As soon as the college learned about this we were scolded heavily, and even our entrance books were snatched by the teachers and for the matter of the fact that I know, that they also gave us lesser marks in the final semester. The colleges hardly provide any job, and there's no way that a comeback can be made at JSSATEN. There are numerous private colleges in the area, try to get admission in any one of them as this college is a complete waste. Your internal marks and attendance will be cut down for no reason, so all you have to do is become a pet of the management and listen to all that they say. Just like you are a kid of school, even if the attendance is 74%, you will be asked to call your parents. I informed the college that my parents stay in Meerut and they can't come. They threatened me that they wouldn't let me appear for the semester exams. The projects that were assigned in 2nd year were submitted in the final year by the students. I made a mistake by joining this college and requesting others to please don't make such a mistake.
JSSATE is an upgrade version of the school, but if the college is like JSS then it's better than education should be stopped till the school level only. Everything was focused on attendance because attending classes were compulsory. The classes had nothing but making fun of students by the faculty and praising some of their favorites. No one enjoyed the classes as 1-hour classes for each subject were nowhere to be seen but at JSS.
If you have somehow got stuck here then my advice would be don't mess with the faculty. I did, and I paid a heavy price as the internal marks were cut short. Parents would be called upon for no reason and you will be scolded for every single thing. The faculty just had the degrees but no real teaching experience because if you ask them questions, they will have the same answer that what you were doing in the last class. So you will be left with the only option of doing self-study, and these are the factors that you will have to cope up with.
There is a placement cell that will keep playing with your emotions. Yes, you will get it but then when they fail, they will have all the world's excuses. The college's location is such that there are many companies nearby, but still the college doesn't bother to bring them. Some of them did come but all in vain as the list of bright students was already passed to them. Our interview was just a formality and real placements were far from JSS. A sheet disappointment for all that you did, and I was gutted, to be honest.
There are 2 boys and 1 girl's hostel. The building is the only good part about the hostel as from inside it's filthy. The bathrooms were there on each floor and used by multiple people. JSS Noida hostel rooms were allotted on triple and four sharing. The hostel rooms were sized enough to accommodate 3 and if it wasn't the bathroom issues and some filth that some students have made, it was more than reasonable stay there. The food provided was nice as it was delicious and new things on all 7 days were served. Just beside the hostel there was a garden with a jogging track.
JSS Noida campus is big as it is spread in over 25 acres with all the amenities. Along with academic buildings, there are hostel buildings and staff quarters inside the campus. The library was situated in the admin block and therefore access to the library was limited till 8 pm. The college has sports grounds which are maintained and they were watered daily to make sure they don't lose shape or grass. The auditorium or the multipurpose hall was one of the best. It was fully air-conditioned with a seating capacity of over 1000 people. The stage was used on various occasions, including all the college meet and functions. There's a mess and cafeteria at the campus which were average. The college is located at the center of the city so everything was nearby and one can cater to all their needs within walking distance from the campus.
The infrastructure facilities made lives a little easier because other than that, it was so depressing. I was always saddened by the fact that there won't be any placement, nor will I have knowledge that an engineer, in general, should possess. I made friends who later joined me in PG college. Thus making friends and developing skills in some of the indoor sports that I haven't played otherwise were the only positives I took from JSS.
