Overall, I haven’t got a chance to enjoy it a lot currently. During our first year, we got the first two semesters in campus, and then happened a break, to which we never got a chance to return due to covid-19. Besides, my first year went extremely well. Hostel experience, away from home was good. College studies went well, and are also currently going well. Our second year almost went online except we had the privileged to be there before the second semester for 3 weeks, where we reconnected with the best of Pantnagar moments again. It always feels good to be here with the rest of the hostellers and batch mates.

I am currently a student here. I am pursuing B.Tech in agriculture engineering. Our course is very much practical based, but because of covid-19, we are stuck in our home. Despite that, our online classes have really provided an amazing glimpse of the practical aspects of our subjects. Our counseling is strictly based on our JEE ranks. I had got biotech on the first round of counseling from which I switched to Agriculture in the spot round. I have heard that Pantnagar is famous for its agriculture studies, therefore, I switched to this. Our placements record shows the Agriculture branch usually gets among the highest package in the entire college in on-campus placements.

During our first year, we had 12 subjects, for which around 6-7 professors tutored us around the year. All the classes that we attended were very interesting, as the professors seem to be dedicated and I myself had an interest in all the subjects. Later, in online mode, we lost the connectivity with our teachers, but despite that, our professors really gave good lectures, when I compared with my friend’s colleges. All the professors that teach us are permanently based here and usually very experienced.

We have taken so many training workshops to increases our chances of placements. Our college invites teachers from outside to teach us external skills too. Recently we had coding championships, despite being on the agricultural branch, I participated. This year placement record is very good, and some top-notch companies have visited for hiring aspirants.

In our hostel, we had a great time there in our first year. In the girl’s hostel, two girls share one room. Also, our hostels are newly renovated, so the tiles, walls, and cupboards were all very clean. The rooms are big and spacious giving a good roam to keep a good amount of our stuff properly. In the hostel we get on our first year, there, only the freshers live whereas, from our second year to our final year, we live in the same hostel along with our seniors in the same building. Our hostel timings are 6:30 in the summer days and 6:00 during winters. We have to give daily attendance each evening after the hostel gates are closed. We experienced a strict warden in our first year stay at Saraswati Bhawan.

Our campus is known to be spread in hundreds of acres which includes generally the farming fields. These fields are the places, where most of the agricultural research is conducted at our university. Despite, we had massive laboratories in each department at our college. We got to visit each of the laboratories in our first year, and also worked in some of those. I had much of my time in the university library. The library is very big and has 4 floors. Just behind the library, there’s a cafeteria where we usually use to hang out and had a great time there. In the center of the campus, there’s a large auditorium known as Gandhi hall, where so many interesting events took place in our first year like the movie seminar, poetry events, and much more.

In our first year, we had a very promising welcome with an amazing event, the fresher's nite. We enjoyed ourselves a lot there and had memories we couldn’t forget. Despite there, we went to 5 cultural fests and had a great time there. Besides, in our regular day-to-day life, we had joined clubs and societies for cultural activities which provide amazing experience too. Our hostel is very near to the market which is a useful thing. Here you can go to play at stadiums, participate in numerous cultural, sports, academic, etc competitions which are super fun. There is something always going around on campus where you can participate and have fun.
