SCBMCH: My Overall Experience

Overall Rating
SCBMCH is the top ranked institute for MBBS and BDS courses in Odisha. Both academic and non academic life is phenomenal in the campus. Holistic development of a student is ensured here. Interaction with seniors is reciprocated as mentorship. I got a very good rank to enter the glorious SCB.
 

Academics Rating
Clinical and non Clinical paper presentations are organised. Other reputed doctors from all parts of India are invited to share about the topics of their expertise. Internal assessments are held before medical boards for adequate practice.
 

Faculty Rating
Appointed professors have specialty and super-specialty from premiere medical institutes. They ensure proper clinical knowledge and clinical postings are done in small batches for good hands-on practice. Group Discussions are held in the presence of senior professors. They are well trained and are available to clear your doubts. They also conduct 3 internal assessments in an academic year.
 

Placement Rating
After passing final year of MBBS, we are offered an internship for around a year. We get paid 20-30k per month. All theory and practical knowledge is used properly.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are decent, not very good. We have to share our rooms with seniors. It has reading rooms (24/7 availability). All the basic requirements like water and electricity are properly maintained. All the festivals are celebrated in every hostel with high enthusiasm.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The lecture theaters are well equipped and enough to accommodate 250 students at a time. We also have a central library and a public reading room available 24x7. All the rooms are air conditioned. Every non clinical subject has its own laboratory which is very spacious. Campus also has proper sports infra like swimming pool, badminton and tennis court.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is very much happening. Apart from academia, SCB also organises fests like Synapse. Antaragini is ladies hostel function. Annual function is organised by the students union of college in which many celebrities and VVIPs are invited. We also have cultural society, fine arts society to encourage extracurricular activities.
